  Evergreen Review
Evergreen Review was the bible for a generation of radicals and free thinkers.
Evergreen Review quickly became the vanguard of Grove’s anticensorship crusade, concluding its first year by publishing “Horn on Howl” in No. 4, in which Ferlinghetti reported on Judge Clayton Horn’s ruling that Ginsberg’s Howl was not obscene.
Evergreen Review was a literary magazine published by Grove Press in the late 1950s and 1960s.

The Evergreen Review and its maverick and iconoclastic editor, Barney Rosset, along with co-editors Fred Jordan, Richard Seaver and Donald Allen, defined the coming of age of at least two generations.
The back issues of Evergreen are a cultural treasure for anyone seeking a greater appreciation of the forces at work in America's cultural and political landscape in the late 1950's, the 1960's and the early 70's.
Evergreen Review Number One has works by John Paul Sartre and Samuel Beckett (who appears and re-appears from the first issue to the last) along with many others.

 TheMovieBoy Review - Evergreen (2004)
Although regular art-house viewers will be able to think of quite a few superior motion pictures more worthy of such luck, "Evergreen" remains a solid, affectionately told drama, at times wavering the line of excellent, that only disappoints when it doesn't add up to the fully-realized catharsis it is obviously aiming for.
For 80 minutes, "Evergreen" is close to flawless, particularly for a small-scale, multilayered character piece.
"Evergreen" is a fine first film, there is no doubt, and its ending is a miscalculation that hinders, but fortunately does not altogether destroy, what has come before.

 Evergreen - Evergreen Review
Evergreen's album is a little more sporadic and somewhat unpredictable.
When you don't know what's next, you tend to hang on a little more, rather than some of today's artists that do three similar songs and rework them and change the lyrics and call it an album.
Heavy low-end is the key to Evergreen's sound, as is Sean McLoughlin's crazed vocals.

Unspeakable Visions: 3.2.0 - The Literary Magazines
Evergreen Review marked the beginning of Grove's association with the Beat writers, regularly presenting new work by Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, Gary Snyder and others.
Begun in 1957 under the editorship of Donald Allen, Evergreen Review was the magazine which introduced the West Coast literary avant-garde, what had been termed the San Francisco Renaissance, to the New York alternative publishing scene, and gave the resultant mixture a national exposure.
Evergreen Review continued under a succession of editors, and in several different formats before finally ceasing publication.

Evergreen Movie Review - Evergreen Movie Trailer - The Boston Globe
In the press materials for ``Evergreen,'' the young writer-director Enid Zentelis says she was inspired by ``Nickel and Dimed,'' Barbara Ehrenreich's 2001 account of life in minimum-wage America.
Too often, ``Evergreen'' dawdles along with a generic indie-film somnolence - you don't have to hear the plangent guitar strumming on the soundtrack to know this is a Sundance workshop project - and the respect the director shows her characters often shades into dullness.
``Evergreen,'' which will play only at the AMC Framingham, may be most notable for how it's coming to theaters: downloaded via satellite into the server of a digital projector.

 calendarlive.com: MOVIE REVIEW - 'Evergreen'
Enid Zentelis' affecting and intimate "Evergreen" deals with family life and coming of age and is the kind of small, deeply personal American film that rarely surfaces even in art theaters these days.
"Evergreen" will be presented digitally, via the chain's Digital Theater Distribution System, which eliminates the need for the production and distribution of costly 35 millimeter prints.
It is too adult for preteens in regard to sex, but it has an engaging realism and offers hope, at least for some of its people.

 IGN: Evergreen Review
Review: The latest entrant in the adolescent angst genre.
September 13, 2004 - Just three weeks or so after the Sundance favorite Mean Creek shuffled into theaters promising a "real" portrait of teenage life, Evergreen attempts to do the "adolescent angst" genre one better with a tale about a kid even more disaffected than the vindictive little suckers in its predecessor.
That the newer of the two doesn't try to transplant adult feelings onto teenage faces helps its cause enormously, but the film remains a frequently depressing vignette about poverty that ultimately only adds another member to the genre's growing ranks without necessarily making a qualitative contribution.

 Zine-o-Rama : 'Evergreen Review' : Pif No. 32 - January 2000
The current issue, Fall/Winter 99, is devoted to the controversy surrounding Lo's Diary, Italian author Pia Pera's recasting of Nabokov's Lolita (the publication in English of which sparked a furious debate in the book world over copyright issues and what does and does not constitute permissible literary "borrowing").
The Evergreen Review neatly presents both sides of the controversy, reprinting Garbus's article and a review from The Toronto Globe along with excerpts from the novel.
Joyce's most impressive work to date, its inclusion here goes a long way toward (re)establishing Evergreen Review as both a vital forum for new writing and a leading venue for serious hypertext.

It almost seems as if they recorded the music in the studio, but Evergreen Terrace is just that tight live.
The only sign of Evergreen Terrace not being a good live band is the vocals at the start of "Please Hammer Don't Hurt Em." Finishing off the album is the band's long out-of-print four song demo that showcases their roots.
I would venture to guess Evergreen Terrace fans would be running out and buying this record right away.
