Chaos: Every Good Boy Deserves Favour
The boy never learned how his father sussed them out, but the man later reasoned that it was an unfortunate coincidence: something as mundane as the absence of dust on the piano, or an overly-enthusiastic sforzando on his mother's part that leaked through the thin walls and window-frame, overheard by his returning father.
The boy's first inkling that something was amiss was when his mum stopped dead in the shop-door (he bumped into her bum, unable to stop in time); and then her basket and parcels slipped from her hands and to the floor.
Mum was not allowed to re-arrange their few bits of furnitures, but made to stare at the yellowed oblong on the wall where the piano once stood; the boy was set to preparing even more potions ingredients, and the most caustic, so that his fingers were soon as red and raw as his mother's.

It is almost a REALLY good song as opposed to a good song as the instrumentation finally comes to a level you might expect from this group.
Although there were a lot of good songs on these various missions, the dilution proved that the individual parts lost something that the whole brought to the table.

"Virtually assaulting the audience with a cascade of words and a conspicuous display of intellect, Stoppard, in Every Good Boy Deserves Favor, contrasts the circumstances of a political prisoner and a mental patient in a Soviet insane asylum, to question the difference, if any, between free will and the freedom to conform.
Stoppard writes of Bukovsky: "He was not a man to be broken or silenced; an insistent, discordant note, one might say, in an orchestrated society." Thanks to an international campaign, Bukovsky was released and sent to the West in 1976.
He attended a rehearsal of Every Good Boy Deserves Favour in June 1977.

The only song on this album that is not a masterpiece is "Nice to Be Here," a corny little tune by Ray Thomas (who should record a children's album.) But it's still very listenable and for that reason it doesn't detract from the album.
Album #6 for the Moody Blues, 1971's "Every Good Boy Deserves Favour," is a very beautiful album that features some of the Moodies' spaciest sounding music ever.
Nonetheless, "Every Good Boy Deserves Favour" is still a very lovely, exquisite, classic Moody Blues album.

Other variations are 'Every Good Boy Deserves Football', 'Every Good Boy Deserves Fruit', 'Every Good Boy Does Females' (which usually causes snickering and giggling among 7th and 8th graders) and 'Even George Bush Drives Fast' (a reference to the current President of the United States).

My brother once suggested how good it would have been for Justin to play in another band for a while and develop his technical abilities as a guitarist and songwriter, playing alongside people like Robert Fripp and Steve Howe, or John McLaughlin, musicains who are into playing their instruments rather than just writing songs.

The football match saw a "professional foul" -- a last desperate foul to prevent a goal -- and Anderson begins to understand the need for the occasional desperate and wrong act, for the better good (though in the case of the professional foul the Czechs converted the penalty too).
Professional Foul gives a good picture of the perverse and petty Czech-communist regime around 1977, and the difficulties of intellectual life there.
It still is quite an effective piece, but not nearly as good as it might have been if he had more often eschewed the obvious.

Rich, complex, powerful, and beautifully produced, EVERY GOOD BOY DESERVES FAVOUR brings together all of the Moody Blues' best qualities in one album, standing as the culmination of their fine '60s work, and the standard-bearer for the music to come.
Overall, the record is more varied than 'A Question of Balance' and 'Seventh Sojourn', which is always a good thing, and the production here is excellent - it sounds very crisp, and the mellotron string sound isn't in such sickening abundance as on 'A Question of Balance'.

Set in 1970's Soviet Union Russia, Every Good Boy Deserves Favour marries music with politics as two men, coincidentally both sharing the name Alexander Ivanov, find themselves also sharing the same cell in a mental institution.
From this idea, he created a political satire and Previn matched the spoof with the musical parody of Russian composer, Shostakovich, who was a quiet mid 20th century activist against eastern European totalitarianism.

In the 18th-century Enlightenment, Jean Jacques Rousseau and others gave impetus to the belief that an ideal society—a Golden Age—had existed in the primitive days of European society before the development of civilization corrupted it.
This faith in natural order and the innate goodness of humanity had a strong influence on the growth of visionary or utopian socialism.
The end in view of these thinkers was usually an idealistic communism based on economic self-sufficiency or on the interaction of ideal communities.
