Everyday   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-24)
The album is Gabrielian in scope, from Matthews deepening rasp to the epic instrumentation.
It was a track from their album "Crash" and it is one of the few times I have ever gone out and bought an album from the experience of hearing a single track.
Despite 'Everyday' potentially being a mediocre DMB album, it is quite unforgivable to refer to 'Everyday' as a bad album, full of dishonesty due to a different production, as I felt the album maintained enough emotion that aided repeated listens.

Everyday by Dave Matthews CD   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-24)
Everyday is a new twist on the Dave Matthews Band.
The Dave Matthews Band's latest release, "Everyday," is the ulitmate guilty pleasure for die-hard DMB fans, an album with enormously catchy guitar riffs and radio-friendly tunes, yet one that also radically departs from any of the band's previous releases.
DMB has created an album that sounds nothing like its original works, and the album's less-is-more philosophy goes against all of the band's previous efforts--and yet one can't deny that "Everyday" is enormously entertaining.

 Observer Newspaper - Scene
The album's departure from precious DMB style can be attributed to Matthews' new preference for electric guitar, Glen Ballard's tight pop control, and the sparse use of violinist Boyd Tinsley and sax/flute man Leroi Moore.
The album's first guitar phrase is the first clue that Everyday is going to be different.
Sure this album is probably the band's least inspired, but the experimentation is commendable.

The Shorthorn Online | SCENE | Everyday Sunday not everyday Christian rock   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-24)
This album is a clear example of Christian rocks’ gradual transformation into mainstream rock while still carrying its positive message and not preaching to listeners.
While Everyday Sunday’s album is a lighter type of music than Creed’s — blaring instrumentals and intense vocals — it still shows potential to go down the same successful path.
Throughout the album, the mood effectively changes from the cool, mellow tones of “Hanging On” and “Just a Story” to the quick energy guitar chords of “Lose It Again” and “Mess With Your Mind,” which are reminiscent of Green Day and Blink 182.

Everyday presents a harder edge of the band, with Matthews playing electric guitar on an album for the first time.
The lyrical creativity is evident, but the album's strongest suit is that it features an element so lacking in much of popular music -- artists who can play instruments.
Everyday's release leads the band into a summer of what many consider its greatest talent -- touring.

Their newest creation and fourth album, Everyday, produced by RCA efforts, turns another page in their famed musical sonic storybook.
Everyday, however, was written almost completely by Dave Matthews, giving it a more defining sound.
Matthews plans to kick off the world tour of his new album with an April 21 concert in the group’s hometown of Charlottesville, Virginia, which is where the band created their very first album in 1990.

Take one spin of the band's debut album, Everyday Behavior, and you'll instantly take notice: the ivory-tickled "The Curse" has far more in common with Billy Joel's pop sensibilities than Benji and Joel's (Madden that is) pop-punk, while the 6/8 ballad of "Sleeping Through Autumn" sports powerful vocal delivery cast against fluid, mature arrangements.
Everyday Behavior's tracks will be available for live consumption across the nation this summer, as MELEE will appear on all the Vans Warped Tour dates.
Sanberg notes that the album's purpose and mission extends past the sheer musical influence of the band.

Everyday is, in fact, quite dark beneath the sheen.
Tinsley and Moore don't get to open up until late in Everyday, on "Fool to Think" and "Sleep to Dream Her." The only major soloing room on the entire record goes to guest Carlos Santana, who plays on "Mother Father." Matthews is nobody's puppet here.

“Everyday” is not the typical album for the Dave Matthews Band.
Overall, the album evades any desire to pin it down musically by using a violin, soft saxophone, and piano to create a unique layered sound offsetting the heavy rock notes.
“Everyday” is a prime example of an emotionally charged, unflinching sound that should serve as a testament to the Dave Matthews Band and their commitment to the music they make, wherever that music may take them.

Born from the ashes of a scrapped album recorded with former producer Steve Lillywhite, Everyday teams Matthews and Co. with super producer Glen Ballard.
Matthews himself has even broadened his arsenal by employing an electric baritone guitar on the majority of the albums twelve tracks.
The album's first single, "I Did It," is driven by a dirty, jangling riff uncharacteristic of anything else in the band's history.

To get the significance however, you have to realize that this album comes at a time where Dave is struggling to figure out what there is left to do as an artist.
That's what most of the rest of the album is- proving that even the band with it all can take their music in another direction.
This definitely changes the style of the album, which finally culminates in a few bars gospel opening for the song "Everyday." On this song, Dave goes back to his acoustic guitar.

For fans of Dave Matthews, the news regarding his fourth studio album, Everyday, may be disturbing, or at least disconcerting: After years of strumming unplugged, their man has discovered the electric guitar.
The album finds Matthews paired with the least likely producer and songwriting partner one could imagine: Glen Ballard, whose passion for bludgeoning listeners with hooks until they cry uncle has led to a decade of hits with everyone from Wilson Phillips to Alanis Morissette.
On previous albums, the DMB had a tendency to overarrange their material; only the devout felt at home in the band's thorny thicket of noodly solos and mice-in-a-maze rhythms.

But after recording what was supposed to be the next album with him in the spring, the band felt it had been treading water and turned in uninspired performances.

Everyday is a thorny album that’s unlike anything else by the Dave Matthews Band.

Dave Matthews Band's fourth studio album Everyday leads off with its first hit single, "I Did It." For those of you who have been hiding out under a rock for the past month or so, "I Did It" is a bass-heavy track with a killer opening riff and a catchy chorus.
Everyday is well recorded, with minimal background noise and good miking.
The entire album is fairly solid from a sonic perspective but has no tracks that really stand out from a recording standpoint.

Unfortunately, in the case of Trouble Everyday, the soundtrack is so dependent on the film that without it, the music is devoid of its emotional cues, with few exceptions.
Though the use of the strings are sparse, they do provide much of the track's (and the entire album's) backbone, punctuating marathons of muted trumpet or congo solos.
That isn't selling the album short, as all original soundtracks base themselves on repeating bits (much like simple pop music) so that the audience in the theater will recognize the melody quickly and gain a simple recognition, furthering their emotional response.

The album includes a plethera of tones and some of the most beautiful verses ever produced by the band, such as those of "Grace is Gone." "Kit Kat Jam" is a good example of the more upbeat tracks on the CD, it does not have words, but the notes say all that is needed.
