		In authenticating the chat room text files, the prosecution presented testimony from Tank’s co-conspirator Riva, who explained how he created the logs with his computer and stated that the printouts appeared to be an accurate representation of the chat room conversations among members of the Orchid Club.
		Specifically, the government “presented evidence sufficient to allow a reasonable juror to find that the chat room log printouts were authenticated.”[6]
		Interestingly, Tank argued on appeal that the Government was required to conduct a computer forensic analysis on Riva’s hard drive to ensure that the files in question were not materially altered by Riva prior to the seizure.

		Whole or partial HIV genomes have been detected in numerous AIDS patients, using a technique called PCR (the same technology is used to find DNA evidence with which to convict murderers or to settle paternity suits, as well as to detect the germs that cause hepatitis, tuberculosis and other diseases).
		However, there is no evidence that anti-HIV drugs cause the severe immune deficiency typical of AIDS, and there is abundant evidence that currently recommended courses of antiretroviral therapy can improve the length and quality of life of HIV-positive people.
