		Ex Astris, Scientia is the motto of The Next Generation episode The First Duty, although at that time, it read as the less grammatically correct "Ex Astra, Scientia".
		The motto based on the motto of the Apollo 13 mission, "Ex luna scientia" (from the moon, comes knowledge), as confirmed by Michael Okuda (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Season 5 DVD Special Features, "Memorable Missions").
		Ex Astris Scientia has been adopted by Bernd Schneider as the title of his Star Trek: The Animated Series; a timeline and character biographies; works of fan fiction; a database of non-canon ship designs; book and model kit reviews; and a list of hyperlinks.
