	Excalibur (comics) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Excalibur is a Marvel Comics superhero group, an offshoot of the X-Men, usually based in the United Kingdom.
		Between Excalibur’s disbandment and reformation, a short-lived, ongoing series entitled Excalibur chronicled the efforts of X-Men founder Charles Xavier and his former nemesis Magneto to rebuild the mutant homeland of Genosha.
		Originally solicited as Excalibur: Sword of Power, the subtitle was absent from the published issues, and, due to an error, the indicia described it as Excalibur volume 1.

		The joint creation of Alan Davis and Chris Claremont, the team was formed in 1988; at the time the rosta included Nightcrawler, Shadowcat, Captain Britain, Meggan and Rachel Summers, the second Phoenix.
		Excalibur ran for 125 issues under various writers and artists

		Claremont's quality has slipped dramatically over the years, he spends too much time having characters needlessly explaining their powers or how they're using their powers, a job that is supposed to be handled by the artist who would do fine on his own, but with Claremont's poor writing it seems kinda redundant.
		I recommend avoiding the new Excalibur, although the original series was great this one is a complete waste of paper and the penciler's talent.
		Back when comics were geared towards children, Chris Claremont brought style, craft, and maturity when he took over the X-men back in the seventies.

	Camelot In Four Colors, Part 3
		Written by Charles Vess and Elaine Lee and illustrated by John Ridgway, the story is conceived as a sequel both to the ongoing continuity of the newspaper strip and to the traditional Arthurian legend.

		the older one is $1.25 and says "(marvel comics presents) Excalibur (featuring captain britain)" the #33 i just picked up is $1.75 and says "(girls' school from heck part 2 of 3) Excalibur".
		i was not aware of more than one excalibur series.

	OT - Yet Another Comic Book Rant
		I was heading into my favorite comic book store in Portland, OR (Excalibur Comics - a store so nice, when asked to think about what should be improved, I had nothing to offer!) for the last time (moving down to San Francisco) and when I was checking out the rack, I overheard a conversation.
		The retailer frowns and goes on to explain how the current Hulk comics are too mature for most children and how she honestly couldn't feel comfortable reccomending the 25 cent comic on the rack.
		Put out a comic book that isn't 22 pages of Peter Parker depressed over his dead wife, Cyclops watching a stripper, or Absorbing Man in an egg with Hulk no where to be seen.
