Review of a flight with Excel Airways in January 2004 from Mombasa (Moi International) - MBA to London, England ...
Having experienced a delay of 4 hours on the outbound LGW/MBA, the service provided by Excel was satisfactory, albeit the aircraft cabin was looking tired to say the least and the inflight entertainment system only worked in sproadic outbursts.
We eventually boarded at MBA after a 22 hour delay with very little information and were curtly informed by the pilot that 'the delay is not the cew's fault, so please don't take out your frustration on them...' - Guess this was an oninous sign of things to come.
Having been told midway through our holiday that no Excel One service would be available due to 'aircraft availability issues', we were assured that two economy seats would be allocated per Excel One passenger in the forward cabin and the normal Excel One in-flight service would be provided.
