Excel (Excel Saga) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Excel is the codename of the title character of Rikdo Koshi's manga and anime series Excel Saga.
According to the anime, Excel graduated from Inunabe [Dog Stew] Public High School in F City, F Prefecture (this location is based on, and in the manga is explicitly Fukuoka, Fukuoka).
Despite such treatment, Excel rarely wavers in her devotion and proclaims that she reads "love" as "loyalty." (Such an action is a virtue of the Japanese writing system.) For instance, in volume one of the manga's American release, she actually curses Ilpalazzo, Hyatt and Menchi in a dream.

Temple of Duodenum: Anime: Excel Saga
The animation is higher than average for a TV series, varying in style depending on what the show is currently parodying (the action movie episode is in widescreen, the shoujo episode is in soft-focus and light colors, and so forth).
The voice acting is superb, with Kotono Mitsuishi (Misato from Evangelion, Ebichu from Ebichu Minds the House) as hyper-fast talking Excel, Omi Minami as calm-voiced Hyatt, Takehito Koyasu (Hotohori from Fushigi Yuugi, Shigeru from Evangelion) as Il Palazzo, Takashi Nagasako as Pedro, and director Shinichiro Watanabe as Nabeshin.
A brilliant and hilarious parody anime, Excel Saga is not recommended for housecats, pregnant or nursing women, or twits with no sense of humor.

 Excel Saga
After a couple of episodes Excel is joined by the gorgeous but perpetually terminally ill space princess Hyatt (who dies several times each episode) and both are commonly accompanied by their “emergency food source,” a cute dog named Menchi, as they attempt to carry out Il Palazzo’s directives.
American viewers should well appreciate the wacky slapstick and utterly absurd characters, particularly the frenetic enthusiasm of the lead; watching her is like watching a three year old that has just loaded up on sugar and downed an extra grande expresso.
Excel Saga is so clever and inventive in its execution of various parodies that only rarely will you become bored with the jokes or find them to be tired and clichéd.

The story of Excel Saga revolves around the title character, Excel, and her endeavor to do a good job for Across, an evil organization bent on taking over the world...starting in Japan, of course.
Excel later gets a partner named Hyatt, a quiet and reserved girl who has such a weak constitution that she is known to have fainting and coughing-up-blood spells every few minutes.
Excel Saga's complete disregard for things such as the "fourth wall" and other such "normal" conventions seen in anime is one of its greatest weaknesses, but also one of its greatest strengths (as the hilarity that ensues from such situations is very entertaining to watch).
