Exhalation (or expiration) is the movement of air out of the bronchial tubes, through the airways, to the external environment during breathing.
Exhalation is initiated by a decrease in volume and positive pressure exerted upon the intrapleural space upon relaxation of the diaphragm.
Exhalation has a complementary relationship to inhalation (or inspiration), the cycling between these two efforts define respiration.

Exhalation of carbon dioxide (CO) by pigs was investigated under field conditions in a mechanically ventilated commercial fattening house.
The average CO exhalation rate calculated with the "Ouwerkerk Model" was about three times as that obtained by the "Anderson Model" for pigs from 35 to 120 kg.
The CER model produced the same CO exhalation rate as the "Ouwerkerk Model" for a pig of 35 kg and a close rate to the "Klooster Model" for a pig of 85 kg.

Exhalation rates for radon and thoron have been found to be varying from a minimum value of 0.024 and 29.4 Bq m-2 h-1 for cement plastered brick to a maximum value of 0.16 and 692.2 Bq m-2 h-1 for unfired brick, respectively.
Exhalation rate for thoron has been found to be several times higher than that for radon.
Measured exhalation rates for thoron indicate significant presence of thoron in indoor environment which is also supported by indoor measurements of thoron and its progeny.

The proportion or number of worldly powers required by the senses of knowledge for the undertaking of karma actions and for having connection with the creation’s subjects ands objects and with the embodied self-conscious of soul, is governed by cosmic force at different places and in different amounts and for different times.
The regulations of music of Pranayama force says that the connection of the speed of inhalation and exhalation is with thoughts and meditations, which are the waves of the lingering past subliminal impressions of the interior conscious mind.
Or one can say that by lengthening and shortening the speed of inhalation and exhalation of Pranayama which can be done through the practice of yoga, the thoughts of mind and their cravings and the performance of the karma actions by the body can be made comfortably steady.

As a result, there was partial loss of exhalation gas during metabolic simulator testing at NIOSH, causing the oxygen supply to be used up in fifty-six (56) minutes.
The potential for exhalation breathing hose deterioration may exist for EBA 6.5 SCSRs manufactured or refurbished in the calendar year 1992.

Disk Misplacement in Anesthesia Exhalation Check Valve
An exhalation check valve disk on an anesthesia absorber migrated from its normal position and occluded the hose connection to the anesthesia ventilator.
In the reported incident, the disk was probably lost in the valve body during exhalation valve checking or servicing, was not removed immediately (removal can be difficult, especially without forceps or tweezers), then was forgotten.
Although this problem occurred with a specific anesthesia absorber, we believe it is possible in any unit with an exhalation valve of similar configuration (i.e., with a downward-projecting outlet beneath the valve).

A rebreather is a device that captures and recirculates at least part of a diver's exhalation, thereby allowing the diver to rebreathe part of his previous breath.
Since at least some of the exhalation is recirculated and rebreathed, gas duration is extended and overboard discharge is reduced.
The extent to which the exhalation is contained in the circuit determines whether the rebreather has a fully closed circuit, semi-closed circuit, or open circuit.

Body Language E for Exhalation - Massage Magazine
Myers outlines the exhaling breath as a "simple but profound movement" in that it is "a totally passive process." He compares his current focus as a practitioner on muscles' resistance to exhalation, to the attention he placed previously on the tightness in the body that restricts inhalation.
He points out that many people do not allow for full exhalation, hindering air exchange and leaving behind air that is "dead" and "stale." Myers includes breathing exercises to help the client create awareness and relaxation around exhalation.
Myers describes the benefits of a deeper exhalation, and encourages the therapist to allow for a new breathing pattern to naturally develop in the client.

The inhalation, the exhalation, and the breath retention are all the same length.
For example in an inhalation and exhalation of the same length, a forward bend is comfortable and free, a back bend both inhalation and exhalation will be shorter and in an inverted pose the exhalation is fine but the inhalation is shorter.
