Unarmed drill does not drill using rifles; unarmed drill is based on listening skills and coordination between those the team members.
Armed exhibition uses basic movements with the rifles and, in addition, they also do spinning movements and tosses of the rifles during their performances.

Members of a championship drill team were recruited to create a special attraction which would revive and preserve the history of the Hawaiian of the 1800's.
The organization became a magnet, attracting recruits who were very dedicated drill men and wanted to continue on to a higher level of exhibition drill.

In choosing an exhibition event uniform, teams should be aware that the event is judged by military personnel with many years of military experience.
Given that a large portion of the skill in the Color Guard and Regulation Drill competition is marching in cadence (with appropriate penalty deductions for improper cadence), it should be noted that teams are not allowed to sing or otherwise generate any sounds for the purpose of maintaining proper cadence.
In Exhibition Drill the cadence is left up to the discretion of the performing team.
