The time comprised in this book, from the death of Joseph to the erection of the tabernacle in the wilderness, is about one hundred and forty-five years, on the supposition that the four hundred and thirty years (12:40) are to be computed from the time of the promises made to Abram (Gal.

In the movie, a winsomely smiling Moses is found by Pharaoh’s wife and raised as her son; in Exodus, Moses is found by Pharaoh’s daughter, who observes that the baby is crying, and she raises him as her son.
Also omitted from the movie and most popular versions is that Moses and Aaron originally ask, not for a total release, but just for all the Hebrews and all their animals to go up into the wilderness for three days and make a sacrifice to God out of sight of the Egyptians.
The movie basically stops with the Hebrews’ successful escape from the Egyptians, except for a brief scene in which Moses appears to the people carrying the two stone tablets on which the Commandments are written.

Exodus is a very historically accurate movie about the famous boat "Exodus" that illegally got countless Holocaust survivors to Israel, then Palestine, and, ultimately, it is also about the creation of the State of Israel.
I believe the movie is pretty good and well thought out; all the characters are completely believable (Paul Newman was great as the main character!), and the story line and plot are great.

This is a great movie to watch with older children, however it is too long and it has to be viewed in ''chapters'' to get accepted.
However, the movie is exceptionally long, and that makes the viewers lose interest on it after a while and "miss" a lot of good parts.
I suggest not watching the whole movie at once, but rather taking a few breaks in between, because, quite frankly, otherwise, the magic of the whole movie is lost.
