Exodus’ vocals may have been extreme back in the early to mid 80s, but now they just sound annoying.

The sticker on the cover of Exodus' latest disc, "Shovel Headed Kill Machine," brags that this is the "heaviest and meanest album of their career." This statement is furthered by some rather graphic cover artwork (which is a depiction of a futuristic, bloodied tank shooting while driving over skulls).
Exodus was always pretty good at mixing in good themes without straying away from the technical power that they command in their guitar and percussion parts.
Exodus proves with this record that unlike many of their counterparts, they are able to forge on years later and actually progress without losing their base formula.

With a flood of like-minded thrash bands competing for space, Exodus was relegated to just another band, and their two Capitol releases, Impact Is Imminent and Force Of Habit, failed to generate the same fervor as their early works, and by the mid-nineties the band was done.
