PBS - JAZZ A Film By Ken Burns: Jazz Exchange - Race Records
Record companies were eager to increase their markets, and even developed some non-musical recordings, including recorded sermons, gospel music, spirituals and comedy routines.
By the time the recording industry got on its feet again in the mid-30s with the advent of crooners such as Bing Crosby and bandleader Benny Goodman, what had been known as "race" music was firmly ensconced in the center of the popular culture.
Gradually, the majors began recording their own versions of the whatever hits the independents were lucky enough to have, and by the 50s, race recording labels became superfluous.

In 1999, Time magazine proclaimed Bob Marley and The Wailers' Exodus "the most important album of the 20th century." To many, this is Marley's masterpiece, and rightly so.
Recorded in London, shortly after an attempt on his life, Marley seemed a bit more reflective than on previous records.
Meticulously remastered from the original recordings, the original 10-song album has been expanded to fill up two full CDs, containing previously unreleased B-sides, alternate versions, and inspired live tracks from Marley's infamous 1977 show at the Rainbow Theatre in London (which actually surpass the studio performances).

Once the kings of the Bay Area metal scene (widely accepted as the birthplace of thrash), Exodus were unceremoniously demoted from their post with the arrival of Los Angeles' Metallica in 1982.
A would-be landmark of the genre, the album languished unreleased for over a year due to business problems, and by the time it was finally released by Combat Records in 1985, its impact had been severely dulled by the quick evolution of their peers.
Still, Exodus were on a roll, and their momentum led to a new contract with Capitol Records.

 Exodus 15:1-21
We call this the “mother promise.” The Old Testament Scriptures mention four typical fulfillments of this promise: first, the deliverance of the church in the flood; second, the deliverance of Israel through the Red Sea; third, the glorious kingdom of David and Solomon; and fourth, the return of the Jews from the captivity of Babylon.
Exodus 14 records the second of these typical fulfillments, the deliverance of Israel in the Red Sea.

Egypt: Tempest & Exodus: The Biblical Exodus Inscribed on an Ancient Egyptian Stele
I was somewhat taken aback, for this biblical quotation detailed the events that occurred during the biblical exodus of the Israelites.
The Hyksos exodus has been determined as being in the reign of Ahmose I, which would therefore place the biblical exodus at just the right time for the biblical plagues to be coincident with the Tempest Stele.
We know, from both the historical and biblical records, that the people of Egypt thought that the gods were angry during this period; clearly, both the Tempest Stele and the Bible talk of great storms deluging the otherwise arid lands of Egypt.
