		Expanded Universe is also the title of a short story collection by Robert A. Heinlein.
		It is notable because many Star Wars fans ascribe a continuity between the Star Wars movies and the Expanded Universe, with claims that George Lucas canonized all Star Wars novels as to being the true sequels or prequels to the normal Star Wars movies.
		Many elements created in the Star Wars Expanded Universe have made it into the films, such as the planet Coruscant.

		they are part of the SW universe, they were made to fill in a lot of the stuff that would have been inpossible to fit in the movies...
