 IBM-604
In the 604, IBM had to face for the first time a number of problems whose solutions would be important to the computer industry as a whole: the problems of manufacturing, testing, maintaining, and repairing an electronic machine to be produced by the thousands and installed wherever punched-card machines were used for calculating.
The 604 pluggable unit greatly increased the packing density of electronic equipment; the idea was adopted, with appropriate evolutionary changes, for all subsequent calculators and computers developed by the company.
As the tube was used in the 604, secondary emission from certain of the grids, due apparently to their contamination during manufacture, caused loss of control of the voltage on those grids.

In a series of three experiments, we examined observers' relative sensitivity to anomalies in the rotational and translational components of motion parallax, varying both object structure and depicted distance from the observer to the target.
The experiment employed a mixed design with level of distortion, sign of the distortion, and distance from the observer as within-observer factors, and the two types of stimulus objects as a between-group factor.
The subset of Experiment 1's data corresponding to a "billboarding" situation (i.e., the rotational component of motion parallax is removed).

In the present experiment, for example, the correlation between actual TTP (i.e., factoring in acceleration) and passage times based on an extrapolation of final velocity was 0.886.
If this effect is reliable (it was not replicated in the next experiment), it could result from a confusion of the target's rotational and expansional motion components, a confusion that is less likely to occur when the rotational motion becomes more coherent at higher angular velocities.
Experiment 2 was replicated with a critical modification: The observer's roll axis and track vector were decoupled (i.e., a lateral motion component was added).

PH in this experiment is 604 - 6.8 and water temperature is 17.8 - 19.40C.
By those experiments, it is not the ammonia that brings the fish influence, but the suspended solids in the water.

British singer Kate Bush recorded a song about Houdini's wife visiting mediums to see if his soul had survived which was included on her 1982 album The Dreaming, the cover of which showed Bush as Mrs Houdini, passing a small key to her husband via a kiss.

This experiment will allow parents of newborns and newly-adopted children to strengthen their availability for work by providing them with the time and financial support to address several vital needs that accompany the introduction of a new child into the family.
The experiment will test whether this opportunity for parents to provide the initial care that the child will need, to form a strong emotional bond with the child, and to establish a secure system of child care, will promote the parents' long-term attachment to the workforce.
The rule would permit States to voluntarily participate in an experiment to determine the effectiveness of using the UC program to support parents taking leave from their employment to be with their newborns or newly-adopted children; it would not impose any new requirements on States.

When you have two or three experiments going over the same few days, it is much easier to make sense of your write-ups for each experiment if they are set apart, rather than going from one experiment to the next page by page as you do parts of them.
Describe each experiment in enough detail so that someone who has not seen you working would be able to repeat it - and get the same results - based on what you write or append.
In cases where you have made a complex plan for an experiment, or have a big table of data, or have a critical and sophisticated discussion of results and possible interpretations, write these out on a computer and tape them in.

Experiments were performed on 18 rabbits of various strains and either sex, weighing from 1.7−4.1 kg.

Experience rating was originally established to ensure an equitable distribution among employers of the cost of the system, and to encourage employers to stabilize their work forces.
Although experience rating was discussed in the BAA-UC final rulemaking, that discussion did not recognize that stabilization of employment is one of the primary purposes of experience rating.

Seiff was principal investigator on the probe's atmosphere structure experiment during the most difficult atmospheric entry in the solar system.
The proposed atmospheric cylinders were first demonstrated in a series of laboratory experiments 25 years ago to chart atmospheric flow in a wholly gaseous planet.
The experiments showed that the convective and most other disturbances in these fast-rotating spheres of fluid almost always produced cylindrical vortices parallel to the test vessel's spin axis, called Taylor columns.
