September 20, 2007 - The legislation endorsed by EAA and the rest of the general aviation community to fund the FAA - HR 2881 - was approved by the House of Representatives Thursday afternoon on a 267-151 vote, setting the stage for a crucial conference debate with whatever legislation comes out of the Senate.

The local Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 1314 will be offering instruction to members on the basics of building a homebuilt aircraft starting in January 2002.
For the uninitiated, homebuilt aircraft are the fastest growing category of planes being built today thanks to the EAA’s support and educational programs.
The EAA is also sponsoring a three-day workshop in October 2002, possibly at Dillant-Hopkins, to cover these and other techniques.

 Experimental Aircraft Association's Air Adventure
Since the time of that first EAA Fly-In, attended by 100 people, the EAA gathering, now held in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, has become one of the world's largest aviation events and the world's largest general aviation gathering.
Vintage aircraft from the first three decades of flight are featured in one area; other areas highlight the always-popular warbird aircraft, which are former military aircraft now privately owend.
But perhaps the hallmark of the EAA AirVenture is the hospitality and commitment of the Oshkosh residents, who volunteer their time in the hundreds of tasks that must be done during the event, and many of whom open their homes to AirVenture visitors.
