The Express Lift Tower is a former elevator test tower built by the Express Lift Company off the Weedon Road in Northampton, England.
The structure was commissioned in 1978 with construction commencing in 1980, and was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II on November 12, 1982.
The only lift testing tower in Britain, it was granted Grade II listed building status on October 30, 1997, at the time making it the tallest and youngest listed building in the UK.

Terry Wogan conducted a phone-in during the 1980s to come up for a name for the 127.45 metre tall Express Lift Tower, a dominant feature in the area.
It was built to facilitate the testing of new lifts at the Express Lifts factory.
Northampton Castle (now only remaining as a rebuilt postern gate in a wall outside the railway station and the hill on which it stood) was for many years one of the country's most important castles.
