ExpressVu was conceived in 1994, at the time of American DSS systems launch, as a consortium of Ontario-based Tee-Comm Electronics, Canadian Satellite Communications (Cancom), Vancouver-based Western International Communications (WIC) and Bell Canada (BCE), with a projected startup date of late 1995.
Tee-Comm on its own managed to launch the first DBS service in Canada, AlphaStar, in early 1997 however in a matter of months the company went bankrupt and the service was discontinued, leaving thousands of consumers with useless receivers.

Since then, we’ve been through a lot with Bell ExpressVu: new satellite launches, defective receivers, endless reshuffling of programming options, etc. As far as I can tell, we’ve always lagged a bit behind the States in terms of the availability of the latest technologies.
So I placed my order for it over the phone with Bell ExpressVu, and they set up an appointment for their installation service in the region to come and install the receiver on August 10.

Expressvu customer service says that the client must open a second Expressvu acount and pay two full price monthly subscriptions per month to do anything over 6 TV's.
This is their policy and they don't seem to want to waver from it.
It may also be a limit on their software that they designed in the begining also.

Shouldn't have any problems you can't overcome but but you'll have to tune the ExpressVu receiver to the right channel and have a separate event timer on your ATI software.
No problem recording from most expressVu units but the only thing I recommend is using your AV reciever (if you have one) as your audio and video switching device and connect the 'record' or 'monitor' out from the AV receiver to the input of the AIW9800.
This saves you from wiring directly from the sat receiver to the AIW and having to mess with external switch boxes, etc. And then you only have to have on input from your AV receiver to your display device - assuming that it will be s-video or component.
