Extasy Records - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Extasy Records is a record label in Japan created in the late 1980s by Yoshiki Hayashi (Yoshiki), founder of the Visual Kei rock group X Japan, financed by the money earned from his mother selling the family business.
It was the original promoter of young, aggressive musicians and Visual bands in Japan and groomed the likes of Luna Sea, Ladies Room, etc.

Not to be stopped, Yoshiki created his own record label - Extasy Records, with money he and his mother helped provide.
In 1992, X went global, and this is when they changed their name to X-Japan, as they moved out to America, to try and make it big.

Both the SSL 9000-equipped one on one North, on Lankershim in the NoHo arts district, and the vintage Neve-fitted South (previously Brooklyn Recording), on Beverly Boulevard in L.A., have now become part of the Extasy Studios group, with former Brooklyn Recording chief engineer and general manager Bill Dooley named director of recording for both facilities.
Extasy North in its late-'80s incarnation had been near the top of my list of favorite L.A. studios, so I dropped in for a visit to see what changes have taken place.

In 1998 the band was signed to Push Records and they released their debut album Trickster with little support from their label and little promotion at all.
After much patience, the band soon caught the attention of Extasy Records who signed to band and helped them release their 2002 album, Zerospace, which also featured the song "Before I'm Dead" which appreared on the Queen of the Damned Soundtrack.
During this time, the band was put on hold, hoping to reunite again, but the band eventually fell apart as Dominguez went on to pursue a solo career(releasing her solo debut Freedoming, in 2004), while the remainder of the band formed Shocknina.

One of the finest records of the year is not even a 'rainsound' record.
Tommy Walter, who once liked to play bass for the Eels, has decided to turn serious this time, and to deliver a record with master arrangements and state-of-the art melodies, let alone those really soulful lyrics which sound kind of out of tune in the big prepacked music universe out there.
For the others, Extasy Records is streaming the complete album on its website.
