 Eye of Sargeras - WoWWiki
The artifact was sought by both Illidan and Gul'dan, the former gaining it only through the aid of the Naga, the latter being torn apart by crazed demons.
We don't know if the Eye was Sargeras's actual eye, or simply an artifact which held his power after the battle with Aegwynn.
Eye of Sargeras was used by Illidan in an attempt to destroy the Frozen Throne, but the intervention of Malfurion and Maiev destroyed the Eye instead.

Sargeras - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sargeras, the Bronze Titan and champion of the Pantheon, was a greatly honorable warrior of his kind.
Among the ranks of the Eredar, Sargeras selected two champions: Kil'jaeden the Deceiver, who was chosen to recruit the darkest races in the universe and Archimonde the Horde Defiler, who was called upon to rally the armies of Sargeras.
Sargeras was then sentenced to eternal doom awaiting his trial.

 Tomb of Sargeras - WoWWiki
Gul'dan himself was later torn apart by the Tomb's Guardians, at the very threshhold of the Eye Chamber (once the Courtyard of the Moon), and his armies destroyed by the enraged legions of Orgrim Doomhammer, who had been forced to break off their assault on Lordaeron in order to deal with Gul'dan's treachery.
Maiev Shadowsong tried to stop him from claiming the Eye, and Illidan collapsed the chamber on top of her, setting off a chain reaction that collapsed the entire building.
Maiev escaped, and the Tomb of Sargeras and the evils it contained was at last destroyed, the tools of the Dark Titan never to be used again, his dark reign hopefully fading forever into memory.

A great power indeed, the Eye of Sargeras, a Dark Titan who lead his demonic army, know as the Burning Legion, to bring utter chaos and destruction upon countless worlds.
As for the second, Gul’dan’s quest to find the Tomb of Sargeras and the events associated with that are all part of the standard Warcraft story, being as it’s part of the Warcraft II game plot and also the Warcraft III manual; I think it’s unnecessary to mention all of it again.

Certainly, the tomb housed the Eye of Sargeras, but unless that was truly his physical eye and not simply a metaphor for the artifact, his "remains" are still unaccounted for.
Perhaps the very existence of such remains was merely a myth, but somehow the Eye got into that tomb.
This could be further supported by the fact that Kil'Jaeden remained conspicuously absent during the entire invasion of Kalimdor, perhaps standing back as he let his traitorous "brother" fall without risking himself.
