Eyes Adrift have created an intriguing debut album which mixes classic rock and roll sensibility with an charm and warmth sadly lacking in much of today’s music.
Beginning with the terrific lazy lounge groove that is 'Sleight of Hand', Eyes Adrift signal their intent to show that a subtle layered approach to music can convey as much atmosphere as all the sonic trickery today’s nu-metal charlatans can muster.
All in all the Eyes Adrift have succeeded in creating a worthy album full of charm and laid back grooves which while certainly drawing on the legacy of the members previous incarnations - still blazes it's own trail in today’s jaded scene.

Eyes Adrift definitely has their own sound, but the influence of the member's former bands is far from absent with "Alaska" sounding like it could easily be on a Nirvana album and the quirky bludgeoning riffs of "Telescope" sounding like something that got left off of the Meat Puppets album Monsters.

Eyes Adrift sounds more like a classic Meat Puppets album than any of the major-label discs that band released in the ’90s, when Kirkwood did his best to cash in on the grunge craze by turning his amp up to 11 and summoning as much angst as he was capable of.
