Ezili Dantor (also spelled Erzulie with Danto or Danthor) is the Haitian Vodou lwa of motherhood, single motherhood in particular.
Dantor belongs to the Petro family of lwa.
Ezili Dantor is associated with the fl creole pig of Haiti, her favorite animal sacrifice, and the colors gold and blue, sometimes green and also red to signify that she is a petro lwa.

The most historically important Vodou ceremony in Haitian history was the Bwa Kayiman or Bois Caïman ceremony of August 1791 that began the Haitian Revolution, in which the spirit Ezili Dantor possessed a priestess and received a fl pig as an offering, and all those present pledged themselves to the fight for freedom.
For instance, "Ezili" is a family, Ezili Dantor and Ezili Freda are two individual spirits in that family.
The Ogou family are soldiers, the Ezili govern the feminine spheres of life, the Azaka govern agriculture, the Ghede govern the sphere of death and fertility.
