 The Hindu : F.M. Khan seeks Cong. nomination
F.M. Khan, former Congress member of the Rajya Sabha, who had almost become a cipher in State politics, is attempting a comeback by seeking the Congress ticket for the May 31 byelection to the Legislative Assembly from the Narasimharaja constituency in Mysore city.
Khan has made is that he had noticed the trend towards alienation of Muslims from the Congress, and it was making an impact on elections.
Khan, who is 65, was a close associate of the former Chief Minister, R. Gundu Rao, and was identified with the Sanjay Gandhi brigade.

Prior to joining TPNA in January 2003, Dr. Khan worked at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., where he most recently served as Consultant Physician in Endocrinology and Director of the Diabetes, Endocrine and Nutrition Clinical Trials Unit in the division of endocrinology.
Khan participates in numerous visiting professorships and frequently lectures on diabetes, in forums including the New York Academy of Science, Medical Grand Rounds around the world and many major medical meetings.
Khan earned his medical degree from the University of Liverpool Medical School, England, and completed a fellowship in clinical endocrinology in the Department of Medicine, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.
