The F major chord is comprised of two whole steps (from the note F to the note A, a major 3rd interval) and one and one-half steps (from the note A to the note C, a minor 3rd interval).
Notice that the spelling of the F major chord form in Figure 1 is F + C + F + A + C + F. Figure 2 is a simpler voicing of the F major chord in this position.
The easiest way to play the F major chord requires only that the fundamental triad notes be played.

Remember in the Eb major scale when we needed this same note we called it "Ab" but in the F# major scale it is WRONG to call it "Ab", it is CORRECT to call this note "G#".

Keys of E and F# are often cited as being "bright" whereas the key of Db is "dark".

The major scale consists of just 7 notes from any chromatic scale -- and just like the chromatic scale notes, major scale notes are strung together in order.
However, a "major" scale -- or a "major" chord, for that matter (made up of some notes from a major scale, by the way) has a "positive" or "major" sound.
All major scales except C major will have anywhere from 1 to 6 sharps or 1 to 6 flats in them.

The key signature, major triad, minor triad and degrees of the scale are listed for all of the common major keys.
To find the notes of the scale for the minor key, look up the scale for the relative major key but start from the root of the minor scale (which will be the 6th of the major scale).
For example, to find the relative minor of D major, find D in the major key column - this gives you B minor in minor key column so B minor is the relative minor of D major.

Is F# a Major or Minor Consideration for Microsoft?
CAML, from which F# is derived, is a meta language that was developed by INRIA, a French research institute for computer science.
The notion that Microsoft is standardizing another language, as it has with C++ and C#, is the major source of contention for those who have come to distrust Microsoft in the wake of antitrust concerns that came to a head in U.S. courts a few years ago.
F# isn't the only language Microsoft is working on, although details about an "X#" are rather murky.
