The Football Association finally admitted yesterday that this year's FA Cup final would not be held at Wembley.
For weeks FA and WNSL spokesmen have been sanguine that the delay would cost the FA nothing as Multiplex would be liable for any damages and have to make up for any loss of income suffered.
Multiplex are due to pay damages to the FA and these have been accruing at an estimated rate of £125,000 a day since Jan 31, the date the stadium was meant to be handed over to the FA.
