The Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI), the world governing body for air sports and the World Air Games has announced that they will not be choosing a host for the 2005 World Air Games and that the Games will be canceled.
Delays in the bid process (Malaysia and Poland, the final two bidders, both needed to re-work their original bid documents) meant that the FAI has decided there is now not enough time to hold the games in 2005.
The FAI will continue with its plan to publish a book on the 100 year history of the organization, to be published in 2005 as part of the 100 year anniversary celebration.
