A FASA character converted to GURPS simply by dividing attributes and skills by five would be a 1000 pt.

FASA Corporation was founded by Jordan Weisman and Ross Babcock, creating such popular universes as BattleTech, Shadowrun, Earthdawn, Renegade Legion, etc. The first edition of BattleTech rules was released as "BattleDroids" in 1984, making 2004 is the 20th anniversary of BattleTech.
In the late 80's, FASA was experimenting with Virtual Reality, and that would later grow into VWE (Virtual Worlds Entertainment) and culminated with it's first "BattleTech Center" in Chicago in 1990, with later centers being built across the U.S., and as far away as Yokohama Japan.
In 1995, FASA Interactive Technologies was founded by Jordan Weisman, the FASA Corporation and Denny Thorley to bring FASA Corporation intellectual properties to digital gaming platforms.

FASA sued Playmates in April of 1993 for copyright and trade dress infringement and unfair competition after Playmates' introduction of the ExoSquad prompted a FASA licensee to put the development of a BattleTech toy line on hold.
Playmates had argued that FASA's Mech designs were unprotectable because they were nothing more that general ideas common to the industry.
FASA Chairman Morton Weisman, disappointed by the Courts ruling on the ExoSquad similarities, was nonetheless pleased with its confirmation of FASA's legal rights in BattleTech.

This was FASA original Next Generation sourcebook, unfortunatly they published it with Paramounts approval.
Included in the 80-page rulebook are tables for the various engines, weapons, shields,and computers that make up starships, essays on the design philosophy of the major races, and information on the cost availability and reliability of starship equipment.

If you missed the news on rec.games.mecha, there was a fallout between Michael A. Stackpole and FASA.
