Fastpass - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fastpass is a system created by The Walt Disney Company, introduced in 1999, that allows guests to avoid long lines at its theme parks.
Earlier attractions were given Fastpass by rerouting the queue area to allow a shorter line near the boarding area.
Fastpass is used mainly on the most popular park attractions, such as Test Track and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror; therefore, which rides offer Fastpass varies over time.

 FASTPASS
If the FASTPASS system works the way it should, wait times to board attractions after returning with FASTPASS should usually be under 5 minutes, but not exceed 10 minutes (unless there was a recent attraction downtime or other unusual situation).
We found ourselves waiting around for a FASTPASS time to come up rather than moving to a different area of the park or walking more to go back to a ride that we were holding a FASTPASS for.
FASTPASS may also be used to your advantage if you really like a particular ride and want to ride twice in a row.

 Story - Not so FastPass
FastPass has indeed pulled people out of line; exit polls suggest it cuts two hours of waiting time off the typical tourist's day inside the parks.
But what the Mouse failed to take into consideration was one of the hard-and-fast rules of the Central Florida economy: A family with only $1,000 to spend on food and souvenirs during their theme-park vacation will not spend more than $1,000 just because they've been given more time to shop and eat.
Mind you, for every FastPass that might be reserved as much as months in advance by someone staying at a Disney World hotel, that's one fewer pass available for day visitors.

 Fastpass
FastPass is a new free service available to all guests, which allows to reserve a ride-time for FastPass-enabled attractions in advance and then skip the waiting-line to proceed directly to the attraction.
FastPass issues free reservation tickets, that allow their holders to return to the attraction during a time-window indicated on the printed ticket, skip the usual waiting line and approach directly to the attraction.
Usually you can't get another FastPass for thes ame attraction before the time window of your current FastPass opens but depending on crowds in the park the system may decide for another, different point of time as of which a new FastPass is available for you.

 FastPass Touring Tips
FastPass can be a real time-saver, but has its share of possible drawbacks.
Crowds affect FastPass in terms of how long you'll have to wait before returning to a ride, how late into the day FastPass will be available, and how long non-Pass attraction stand-by waits are.
You won't be able to do as much on a crowded day even with FastPass, but the goal of this plan is to maximize the amount of major attractions you can use FastPass for, as well as making the most of the longer interim waits.
