	FIFA Series at AllExperts
		FIFA 97 had crude polygonal models for players and added indoor football, but the pinnacle was reached with FIFA 98:Road to the World Cup.
		FIFA '96 for the 32-bit systems still relied on 2D sprites for players in a 3D stadium (the engine was called Virtua Stadium), but was much more fluid than any other preceding game (except the Actua games by Gremlin Software).
		FIFA 07 will be the next game in the series.

		According to these people, the FIFA series was too much of an arcade game and didn't give users a faithful representation of the sport of soccer.
		Someone at the company must have been paying attention, because FIFA Soccer 2002 is the biggest evolution that we've yet seen in the series and most of the changes seemed geared towards pleasing those begging for a more realistic soccer simulation.
		FIFA 2001 suffered from this and probably should've received a mid to high 7 or a low 8 at the highest.

		While its appeal may be lost on people who don’t care about professional level soccer, FIFA 2002 is the best in the series to date and offers plenty of enjoyment, depth and challenge and is a worthwhile entry that should satisfy the discriminating sports gamer.

		One area that Fifa has never been lacking has been in the stadia and Fifa 2006 is no exception with fantastically modeled real-life grounds, as well as several well constructed fictional stadia for the lower division teams.
		Along with the gameplay modes (a training mode is also included) and multiplayer, Fifa 2006 also features some nice extras in the form of highlight videos (though their Top 10 selection of goals is a bit questionable), interviews, and a nice video review of the history of the Fifa videogame series.
		From a pure gameplay standpoint, Fifa 2006 still can’t come close to competing with Winning Eleven, but for the first time in years Fifa’s gameplay is solid enough that it can ride the vast quantity and quality of its features to a high score.

		FIFA 97 rolled around, with high expectations to out do its predecessor, for some it was a step in the right direction, but for many it was the first FIFA disappointment from EA.
		Not only were FIFA 99 and FIFA 2000 the most despicable FIFA games to date, that completely destroyed the admiration of fans world wide, and as a result EA lost millions of supporters as a result of the two year period.
		FIFA 2001 was the biggest selling football game of all time (soon to be eclipsed by FIFA 2002), and it was marvelled at, all be it for only a couple of months, as people realised the game resembled Ping-Pong rather than football.

		An example of the improved AI is the use of lob passes to advance the ball up-field at the higher difficulty levels.
		FIFA's main competitor, Winning Eleven, doesn't have sliders either, but there is a huge difference in the AI as you raise the difficulty level, and there are less AI flaws, so it is able to get away with that.

		Of course those fans of the series who own an Xbox 360 will have waited to purchase the only next generation version of the game available this year and they would have had high expectations for the game.
		FIFA 07 on the Xbox 360 shows promise and FIFA 08 could be an absolute cracker if all the areas that are in need of improvement are actually improved.
		FIFA 07 on the Xbox 360 looks great but a lack of content and the fact that the PC and PlayStation 2 versions of FIFA 07 play a better game means it's by no means the Xbox 360 FIFA experience we have been waiting over a year for.

		As with some of the other 2006 EA sports games, there's a Retro mode which lets you see how the FIFA series has evolved since the 16-bit days.

		As always with the FIFA series its strongest feature is the amount of official teams there are in the game.
		Of course you may want to experience the first FIFA game in the series and if you do you'll be able to enjoy FIFA International Soccer which even after all this time, is still fairly enjoyable.

		In FIFA 2003, your offense must run a coordinated attack that draws careless defenders in towards the ball, thus leaving teammates open down the field--even against the worst international teams, pushing the ball straight up the field with only a few players isn't the most effective strategy and will almost always result in an interception.
		Like in FIFA 2002, it can be pretty difficult to connect a cross-field pass near the goal.

		Fifa's play feels far too modulated and pre-scripted--when you pass it either goes to a teammate or it gets intercepted; there's never an errant pass.
