FNP (complexity) - QuickSeek Encyclopedia   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-19)
In computational complexity theory, the complexity class FNP is the function problem extension of the decision problem class NP.
The job of an FNP algorithm is to establish, given an x, whether there exists a y such that P(x,y) holds, and if so, give one possible value for that y.
The FNP versions of these problems ask not only if it exists but what its value is if it does.

FNP - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The FNP is a moderate nationalistic party in the province of Friesland, in the north of the Netherlands.
The party is represented in a few municipal councils and has one mayor among its ranks: Theunis Piersma, mayor of the mainly agriculturally oriented municipality of Wunseradiel.
In the Provinciale Staten, the provincial authority, the FNP holds 7 of the 55 seats after a successful regional election in 2003.

The purpose of this research study was to explore the relationship between environmental complexity and well-being in the elderly.
Complexity was found to be a quality of the environment independent of aesthetics.
In "Altering Nursing's Dominant Logic: Guidelines from Complex Adaptive Systems Theory," we argued that the profession of nursing can be conceptualized as a complex adaptive system of practitioners, professional organizations, and educational institutions that interact with each other and are united by their common pursuit of the goals of the profession of nursing.

 Term 1 progress
Again, although we have asked some interesting and relevant questions about Minesweeper and proved the complexity of each question in Term 1, we will not eliminate the possibility of further relevant questions arising during the later stages of the project, and we intend to deal with them in such an event.
As we have been mainly concerned with exploring the complexity hierarchy of various Minesweeper questions we feel that it would be appropriate to change the title to reflect this.
The new project title is: “An exploration of the complexity of various Minesweeper questions and strategies for game playing,” which we feel is a better summary of the project content.

 Complexity Zoo - Qwiki
Roughly, the analogue of #P for parameterized complexity.
In descriptive complexity, uniform AC can be characterized as the class of problems expressible by first-order predicates with addition and multiplication operators - or indeed, with ordering and multiplication, or ordering and division (see [Lee02]).
Finding a maximum flow, which is P-complete, can be done in CP Based on this the authors argue that "P is contained in CP," but this seems hard to formalize, since CP is not a complexity class in the usual sense.

The aim of the course is to introduce the theory of computational complexity.
The course will explain measure of the complexity of problems and of algorithms, based on time and space used on abstract models.
Important complexity classes will be defined, and the notion of completeness established through a thorough study of NP-completeness.

Exit data on food-related behaviors collected from FNP participants show that they were reading food labels to make healthier food choices, using money-saving strategies such as planning before going grocery shopping and using a shopping list, and using safe-food handling practices more often that when entering the program.
Approximately 273 adults, the majority of who are eligible for or are receiving food assistance, participated in the FNP in the past year.
Michigan FNP instructors are hired from the communities in which they work and teach practical skills in healthy eating, food safety and budgeting for food expenses.

If there is no FNP student involved, the ICP will be done by whatever provider sees the patient for that visit.

 Multics Glossary
Organized around "event-call" wakeups, dialup_ was totally event-driven, much as the code at the core of some of today's GUI paradigms, and the resulting morass of "state = this", "next_state = that", etc., totally defeated all notions of program-structure and control flow, rendering it a bear to understand and maintain.
Nonetheless, over the years certain critical subsystems of substantive complexity and bulk (notably page control and the scheduler) were recast into assembler language to optimize performance.
SIPB's relationship to Multics was complex: by virtue of being among its greatest admirers and promoters, they were at once among its most demanding and insistent critics.

COMPLEXITY CLASSES P AND NP FACTS AND INFORMATION   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-19)
Computational_complexity_theory is part of the theory_of_computation dealing with the resources required during computation to solve a given problem.
Although this particular problem was recently shown to be in P as well (see references for "PRIMES in P" below), this is not at all obvious, and there are many other similar problems that are not believed to be in P.
While this is a common and reasonably accurate assumption in complexity theory, it is not always true in practice, for several reasons:

The certified nurse practitioner must combine an understanding of the complexity of biochemical and anatomical alterations that culminate in disease, and the corrective mechanisms of a wide range of drugs and other therapies that will result in a best fit of diagnosis and treatment.
Since patients afflicted with major diseases present with diverse signs and symptoms, the goal of the course will be to present diseases from a multi-system approach and then explore the logic of the current therapies known to cure or arrest the disease.

It is commonly believed that the intersection of NP and coNP is properly contained in NP; hence testing whether a number is a prime would not be a NP-complete problem.
In this case, we are dealing with the class known as FNP (function problems associated with NP).
