If an article already exists on a given topic but the FOLDOC entry has information that we don't, it should be integrated with our article, rather than tacked onto the end.
If our article and the FOLDOC one contradict each other, mention the contradiction on the appropriate Talk page so it can be discussed.
These are FOLDOC mirrors, which may not be up-to-date:

I would not be at all >>> happy to >>> have no acknowledgement at all but I'd just cry quietly to myself at >>> night about >>> it.
And it's not very useful because it also lists talk pages that just happen to link to it (as opposed to transcluding it).
Yeah, I know, my Category proposal also requires the presence of [[Category:Articles based on FOLDOC]], but at least it wouldn't generate such a big box that would need to be carried around with the article forever.

Why I maintain FOLDOC   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-31)
When people hear how popular FOLDOC is, they often say "Why don't you charge for it?" or, more recently, "Why don't you sell advertising space?" Firstly, that's not what I'm interested in.
I already have a full-time job and if I charged for FOLDOC then I'd have to guarantee some level of service whereas at the moment I do as much or as little as I want.
It belongs to the net - to all the good folk who've helped make it what it is. I do claim copyright on it, but mostly to prevent anyone else trying to do so and to ensure that it remains free.

The FOLDOC is a searchable online dictionary of computer terms designed as a one-stop computing reference source.
The FOLDOC was conceived in 1985 by Denis Howe of the Department of Computing at Imperial College, London.
Although the dictionary is copyrighted (1993-1999), Howe allows users to post the FOLDOC on their sites as long as they refer to the dictionary as "The Free On-line Dictionary of Computing”; and include his name as the editor.
