ABOARD USS NASSAU (LHA 4) - Seaman David Bohannon from USS Nassau's (LHA 4) Deck Department signals French Navy ship FS Courbet (F 712) that all conditions are safe on Nassau to begin fueling during a Replenishment At Sea (RAS), Feb. 8, 2006.
Members of Nassau's Deck Department performed all the necessary steps to conduct a RAS transferring fuel to Courbet, while Helicopter Combat Support Squadron 28 (HSC-28) practiced vertical replenishment maneuvers.
This evolution allowed Nassau's crew to demonstrate their ability to successfully conduct operations with coalition forces as they continue to support Maritime Security Operations (MSO).

The Dutch have made three frigates, two minesweepers and a submarine available.
The French have sent two naval vessels in the Arabian Gulf- the patrol frigate FS Courbet (F712) and the supply ship FS Var (A608).
Their main role will be to provide logistical support to American and British warships already in the region.

A very minor incident which started the third Franco Chinese war we won.
We soon avenged that, Courbet destroyed Chinese fleet and forces, then Chinese signed the second TIEN-TSIN threaty and lost Vietnam for ever.
I will pay tribute to our glorious victory at Tuyên-Quang in March 1885 where 600 French from marine infantry besieged by 20 000 chinese manage to resist andinflict them more than 6000 casualties.
