FV438 is modification of the FV432 APC with a fixed turret mounting two missile launchers, and an extending and rotating guidance sight.
This 1/35th scale resin and etched brass model by Jon Bottomley features raised and lowered sights and missile bins, external stowage and was upgraded in 2004 to include decals.

FV438 was actually a Royal Armoured Corps Swingfire vehicle and, AIUI, not re-issued to the Artillery but phased out with the '90s draw-down.
Actually FV438 was originally issued to armd regt atk troops and to a pl in 'armd' inf bns.
They did, and I think the FV438 was retired sometime in the mid 80s for conversion to other roles.

Its artillery complement was three regiments - one with five batteries each of one Abbot stand (one per battlegroup); another regiment with 4 M109 stands; and the last with 1 M110 stand and 3 FH-70 stands.
There was also a GW Squadron in the artillery brigade of five troops, one for each battlegroup (each troop had one FV438 stand).
When the Striker was introduced a 6th troop was added which was attached to the Recce Regiment.

From my understanding, the actual shade of real life vehicles is heavily dependent on how much the paint was initially thinned down and how long the paint job had been fading in the sun.

These units were later phased out and modified to a new Carrier Tracked Armoured Command Post type, and given the FV436 designation.
It's my understanding that the FV438 were mostly converted to armoured ambulances, although some may have been given the BATES IK.
Basically there were many Installation Kits (IK's) for the FV432, some you list eg WOMBAT.
