  Nikon F100
The F100 defaults to using the command dial on the body for this function (as is done on other brands of cameras and on entry level Nikons such as the N65).
The F100 focuses quite fast, and focusing was accurate with a wide range of lenses (both older and current) that we used during testing.
The F100 features Nikon's "focus tracking with lock on", that is capable of tracking a moving subject even it a stationary object temporarily comes between the camera and the subject.

 Nikon F100: First Hands-On Impressions
The F100 is a direct crossing between the prestigious and quite expensive F5 and the its cheaper predecessor, the F90 (designated N90 in the US).
F100 has a non-interchangeable viewfinder, lacks colour matrix metering, has no mirror-lockup and is able to achieve less frames per second that F5, but a framing rate of 4-5 fps should satisfy most potential buyers.
Obviously F100 is targeted at photographers not willing to spend a fortune on F5 but nevertheless wanting to make use of the advanced features of that model.

Nikon F100 Review by Thom Hogan
The F5 syncs to 1/300, the F100 to 1/250.
The F100 meters from EV 0 to EV 21 in center-weighted and matrix mode; the F5 from EV 0 to EV 20.
The F100 is truly a professional caliber camera that produces fine results, resists the elements well, and complements the F5 so well that F5 users may find they use their F100 more often than not.

The editor felt the F100 to be nearly perfect in form and function and while the EOS 3 also made the list it was a bit behind (I can't remember which spot exactly).
Sam felt that the F100 suffered from the same type of slow shutter lag time as the F90x and for that reason it was not suitable for his professional requirements as a photojournalist.
The F100 by itself is a chameleon as very few people would know of the pro-caliber qualities of the body by itself but mount the MB15 and you have a combo that screams "pro" body.

The Nikon $950 F100 is the first in a line of two professional level film cameras offered by Nikon.
The vertical grip was not removable on the F5 as it is with the F100; though, this was remedied with the introduction of the F6 in early 2005.
Supposedly, the F100 can be a bit of a power hog; however, with the battery grip, I never experienced exceptional battery drain.

Minolta DiMAGE F100 Digital Camera Review: Executive Overview
The F100 uses a Minolta GT 3x lens, with a focal range from 7.
Like other Minolta GT lenses I've tested recently, the one on the F100 looks to be of unusually high quality, quite sharp from corner to corner, and with very little chromatic aberration.
The F100 has two metering modes, Spot and Multi-Segment (which divides the image into 270 sections, meters them independently, and then makes the exposure decision based on the distribution of light and dark areas), and Exposure Compensation is adjustable from -2 to +2 exposure equivalents (EV) in one-third step increments in most shooting modes.

FORD WRECKERS - Ford F100, F150, F250, F350 parts. Wreckers of Australian Ford F-series trucks, Campbelltown, Sydney ...
Rex Stapleton created F100 Truck Wreckers almost 20 years ago with a view to having a business with a total focus on Ford F-series motor vehicles.
Today, the business referred to nation-wide, generally as "that F100 truck wrecker in Sydney" (which was how I heard about him!) has outgrown its humble beginnings with parts, wrecks and almost-complete trucks stored in several leased locations in the Campbelltown area.
However the primary business is still at Lot 22, Rose and Blaxland roads and that is where you will find Rex Stapleton most days of the week, working away on his beloved F100 trucks and their associated 'bits n pieces'.

Minolta DiMAGE F100: Digital Photography Review
This is the first consumer digital camera to feature "Subject Tracking autofocus", the camera has a wide AF area and once the AF is locked the camera will automatically track the subject within the bounds of the scene.
Another new feature on the F100 is automatic subject program selection (scene mode) which analyses the scene and decides which pre-defined exposure program to use.
The DiMAGE F100 is the first compact digital camera in the world to be equipped with Subject Tracking AF and also features Minolta's Area AF.

For instance, the F100 eliminates the annoying two-hands-required power switch interlock of the F5 and adds an easy focus-spot selector switch lockout that the F5 lacks.
Like most products, the F100 you can buy today is a little better that what you could buy 2 years ago, and costs less.
My F100 cost me $1,299 in 1999 and today they sell for less and are slightly better cameras.

 Discussions @ Nikonians - Upgrade from N65 to F100???
I don't know very much about the F100 (other than what I read here), and would be interested to hear about the advantages/features of the F100 over the N65.
The F100 will also meter with older lenses (AI and AIS), which is a real nice option with MF lenses being so inexpensive and many being such excellent optics.
The F100 has a faster autofocus, is better built (than the N80) and is aimed at the advanced/pro market; the N80 is a prosumer camera.

 DCRP Review: Minolta DiMAGE F100
Macro mode on the F100 is different than on most other cameras, as the lens is locked in the full telephoto position.
It is unclear whether or not the F100 is one of those Minolta cameras that uses a non-standard color space.
I suppose F100 owners can decide for themselves if they want to run their photos through the utility or not.

Minolta DiMAGE F100 Review: 1. Introduction: Digital Photography Review
The four megapixel three times zoom Minolta DiMAGE F100 was announced at on 13th March 2002 at CeBIT.
The F100 is powered by two AA batteries (NiMH's recommended) and stores its images on SD or MMC cards.
As you can see the F100 is definitely well specified, with at least as many features as the other cameras here (apart from AF assist) an in some cases even more flexibility (ISO 800, Tracking AF, Bulb exposures etc.).

Fokker F100 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Fokker F100 is a medium size twin-turbofan regional airliner from the Fokker company.
The F100 design was announced in 1983 as an updated replacement for Fokker's popular, but outdated, F28 Fellowship design.
In 1996, a problem in a thrust reverser caused an F100 of the Brazilian airline TAM to crash in São Paulo shortly after take-off, killing 95 and 4 on the ground.

 Nikon F100 review - OlegNovikov.com
As far as the F100 is concerned, its mirror slap is supposed to be at its worst at 1/8 seconds and, as I read in many sources, due to the effect the camera is pretty much useless from 1/30 through 1 seconds.
However, I got the same result when I was testing the AF Nikkor 28mm f/2.8D, which is one of the lightest lenses.
I thought this would not be an issue with the F100 yet after about three years of relatively heavy use my Nikon F100 has now shown the same problem.

Minolta DiMAGE F100 Digital Camera Review: DiMAGE F100 Sample Images
The F100 sports ISO ratings reaching all the way up to 800, but image noise is so high at that level that it's really not much use.
The F100 lets you zoom to full telephoto while in macro mode, producing a little pincushion distortion, but it really isn't at all bad.
Optical distortion on the F100 is higher than average at the wide-angle end, where I measured a 1.31 percent barrel distortion.

 Nikon F100
When I mounted the 80-200mm on the F100 I got nice AF speed but I wasn't blown away, in fact I had to say that I was let down as I was expecting so much more given all the hype.
The F100 is definitely a nice body, though its not a replacement for the F5 (nor was it intended to be!).
Michael Oersigh, April 30, 2000; 06:54 P.M. I bought the F100 about 7 Months ago and was not too sure about the improvements over the F90x, the AF felt a bit strange so I took it to the local Nikon service centre.

I could finally see what I was doing wrong, and all the complexities of the F100 autofocus system crystallized into something that now seemed superbly designed and superbly thought out, and truly was light years ahead of that old N90 of mine.
After reading this section of the book, I quickly mastered all of the intricacies of F100 autofocus and was able to perceive it as a system with a very logical structure, and I knew exactly how to set it up to accomplish my goals, and why I was doing it.
The Nikon's F100 instruction book was fine for the few controls that I had a question about, EXCEPT for the instruction book's explanation of the auto focus area mode.

Discussions @ Nikonians - F100 and flash sync
If you are using the F100 in P or A modes outside on reasonably bright days with fill flash you will see shutter speeds up to 1/250.
If you use slow or rear sync in P or A modes then the shutter will go as slow as necessary (all the way to 30 sec) to give proper ambient exposure with fill flash.
Basically the F100 will try to balance flash and ambient light in A, P, and S modes.

This setting number is the same on both F5 and F100.
In such situations, however, you will have the subject on one of the focus points, and you would probably be better off activating AF with the shutter release.
The ability to split release priority options is a significant advantage of the F5, vs the F100, that is often overlooked.
