Fabricio Oberto (born March 21, 1975 in Las Varillas, Córdoba, Argentina) is a professional basketball player, currently playing for the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA.
Oberto is a warrior in the paint with polished moves around the post.
Oberto is a beast - appears slow footed like a lot of International players - but his court awareness and ability to deliver the pass - more than makes up for it.

Fabricio Oberto, the starting center on Argentina's national team and one of Manu Ginobili's best friends, has reached an agreement in principle with the Spurs on a three-year contract worth about $7.5 million.
Oberto teamed with Ginobili, Scola and Chicago's Andres Nocioni when Argentina upset the United States in the 2002 World Championships.
After Oberto's signing, the Spurs will have about half of their $4.9 million midlevel exception remaining, in addition to their $1.6 million exception.

Not to knock on Scola (because i like him a lot), but Oberto has been at least as important in our NT for the last 4 years.
Scola is probably the smart choice right now (because of age and potential), but i wish Oberto would have had the chance when he was 24 or 25.
In fact, I would think that Oberto may be a slightly better fit for the existing SPURS as he play good defense and doesn't need to be a star.
