		Fabulous Disaster sing self-consciously early-'80s-sounding-mid-'60s-ish harmonies that they put to a late-'70s fast punk march beat and to fast Ramonesy power chords.
		Fabulous Disaster are just one of a slew of mostly female mostly good mostly retro punk bands I've been enjoying lately.
		Like the Fab Disasters, these women have "style" as well as a style—though with a discrepancy between the two, since the guitarist is playing a Pistols-Buzzcocks buzzsaw while the singer glides by in her limo, polishing her Debbie Harry sheen.

		Although the lyrics tend to be pretty shallow, each song zips by with a kind of playful mockery so that Panty Raid never sinks into the pit of mawkish arrogance that traps so many of Fabulous Disaster’s fellow pop-punkers.

		Melodic without affecting the commercial sheen of suck, their songs (mostly culled from the new Panty Raid LP on Pink and Black Records) were attacked as if the world were watching, not just a few scattered kids and the Sunday night crew of a nearby Pier 1 Imports.

		The Bay Area masters return to form with their third release in the form of Fabulous Disaster.
		While their previous effort was good, it lacked the sheer intensity of their debut and this, while moving a bit closer to it, still isn't the masterpiece Bonded By Blood was.
		Sharp riffing and some hefty drumming get the adrenalin pumping fast with tracks such as the opener, "The Last Act of Defiance", "Fabulous Disaster", the Thrashey groove of "Toxic Waltz" and other humorous but well-crafted number such as "Cajun Hell" and "Verbal Razors".
