The Inner and Outer Meanings of Facial Expressions
If measuring all muscular activity in the face were the goal, either of these procedures might involve an impractical number of electrodes since each muscle or portions of muscles on both sides of the face would have to be monitored.
The face provides many cues which are irrelevant to the expression of emotion, but which observers sometimes confuse with emotional cues.
If intensity judgments of the sides of the face differ due to asymmetries in cues irrelevant to emotion, it would be a mistake to conclude that emotions are expressed more intensely on one side.

Ullmann makes "Face to Face" a necessity for any serious filmgoer - we haven't seen such psychic depths on the screen since her debut in Bergman's "Persona" 10 years ago - and yet the character she creates almost seems to exist apart from the universe he provides for her.
Bergman has put in the Freudian asides and fireworks for his own reasons but great director that he is, he hasn't in the process stood between Liv Ullmann and the camera.

The Greeks were the first to understand it: the best dramatic performances are given by women because they have a way of letting out every emotion with the most compelling force.
Bergman also understood this and I think his best movies are those that star women in tense dramatic situations: Persona, Cries and Whispers, Passion of Annam Through a Glass Darkly and Face to Face.

The movie sequence was produced through a combination of digital data from the HRSC and the Mars Orbiter Camera (MOC) on board NASA's Mars Global Surveyor, in a technique similar to that used to create the Cydonia 'Face' 3D still images published on the ESA portal in September.
The Cydonia region lies at approximately 40.75° North and 350.54° East, and is located in the Arabia Terra region on Mars, in the transition zone between the Southern Highlands and the planet's northern plains.
The famous 'face' - actually a remnant massif - was first observed in a photo taken on 25 July 1976 by the American Viking 1 orbiter.

This is done by measuring (Cyberware Laboratory Inc., 1990; Vannier et al., 1991) the desired face in several different expressions and interpolating the surface vertex values to go from one expression to the next.
The detailed structure of the face (Fried, 1976; Friedman, 1970), its anatomical components, their interaction, and actions are only approximated at fairly abstract levels.
Much of the progress in applying computers to understand the face depends upon access to a facial database, both in terms of sharing information and common sets of images, and in regard to increasing cooperation and collaboration among investigators.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest | Retro Junk
Movie Plot:One of the key movies of the 1970s, when exciting, groundbreaking, personal films were still being made in Hollywood, Milos Forman's One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest emphasized the humanistic story at the heart of Ken Kesey's more hallucinogenic novel.
Jack Nicholson was born to play the part of Randle Patrick McMurphy, the rebellious inmate of a psychiatric hospital who fights back against the authorities' cold attitudes of institutional superiority, as personified by Nurse Ratched (Louise Fletcher).
Forman populates his film with memorably eccentric faces, and gets such freshly detailed and spontaneous work from his ensemble that the picture sometimes feels like a documentary.

The movie is essentially the story (not that there’s much of one) of a Pharaoh (Jack Hawkins) who has a pyramid constructed so that when he dies he can take his wealth with him, and he’s quite a wealthy guy.

In the 1950s, movie studios moved towards wide-screen aspect ratios such as Cinerama in an effort to distance their product from television.
Although this was just a gimmick, and many have argued that it is actually a disadvantage when showing objects that are tall instead of panoramic, wide-screen still is being pushed today.
This control of the medium has been eroded by the increasing availability of satellite TV, and the number of satellite channels in Arabic is second only to the number of satellite channels in English, the best known of which being the Qatar -based news service Al-Jazeera.
