I am staying and working in Fahud for the next two months.
Fahud is located about 5 hours in the interior of Oman.
The "town" of Fahud consists of two compounds, Schlumberger and Halliburton, one store, one restaurant, and one other compound that has a health clinic in it.

Fahud Airport   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-11)
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you here today, to the official opening of the splendid new Fahud airport.
And speaking of firsts, it is fitting that Fahud should be the place that has the first asphalted runway within our concession area, since it has the distinction of being the site of the first well in PDO’s history.
But by designing, paving and lighting this runway in the way it has, PDO has made sure that the Fahud airport is well set to one day serve as a hub airport from which flights can branch off to other destinations in the interior.

High Resolution Sequence Stratigraphy of the Fahud Natih C & D Reservoir Units: Constraints on Production   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-11)
This exerts a major constraint on oil-field development schemes such as GOGD versus water-flood development in Natih reservoir units of the Fahud Field.
Facies distributions were studied in six cored wells in Fahud Field.
Core descriptions, a regional overview based on outcrop analogues, and a literature survey were used to build a core-log depositional model indicating that sediments were laid down over a low topography deeper shelf.
