Recognizing the Signs that Lead to Band Saw Blade Failure
A distortion of band “sweep or camber” is called “long” on the tooth edge when the teeth are on the outside of the arc made by a blade lying on a flat surface.
A band is called “short” on the tooth edge when the teeth are on the inside of the arc.
If a band twists into a “figure 8” instead of returning to its normal shape when its sides are held together, then blade flatness was altered during use.

Another source of amusement are the interviews with the band members, which consistently border on the ridiculous.

Got the perfect name for a band? It's probably destined for failure.
The number of successful bands with great names is surprisingly small, and mostly stacked in the punk rock genre.
In that way, giving your band a creative name is a surefire harbinger of doom (which is, incidentally, a great name for a band).
For every real band trying to rise through the ranks from house parties to small clubs to discovery by a major label, there are thousands of imaginary ones -- eternally stuck in the early planning stages of the unmotivated masses.

The production quality of this release far exceeds that of the band's debut, Comfort; this is probably due to the fact that on that release, producer Steve Albini had been trying for his trademark unpolished sound, which did not seem to fit this group, and which ultimately resulted in a flawed album.
Failure knew how to utilize subtlety and dissonance to an extreme that made them better than Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains or Pearl Jam - they surpassed all of those '90s bands, yet no one knew of them.
