The wide building across the river is new since I moved from Alaska, a Springhill Suites hotel that still had yet to open when my Fairbanks friend Dave Williams identified it for me by email in April 2001.
This webcam is mounted on the building occupied by the Fairbanks BLM office, on University Avenue next to the Chena River, some miles west of the News-Miner building, and looks southwest.
In darkness there isn’t much to see — but during daylight (which in summer is almost constant) the view is focused on the Chena River as it flows past the BLM parking lot, and in good weather you can usually see Chena Ridge in the background, which overlooks the west end of the city.
