		The History of Fairchild, WI Fairchild -- a tiny Wisconsin village crouched in the extreme southeast corner of Eau Claire County.
		The rough-hewn log cabins of Fairchild's early pioneers were complemented in 1869 by the construction of the first frame house at the base of what was to become "schoolhouse hill".
		In 1892 the voters of district No. 3 in the town of Fairchild adopted a resolution to establish and maintain a free high school.

		The town of Bridge Creek comprised nearly all the east half of the county, or, to be more particular, what is now the towns of Fairchild, Bridge Creek, Ludington, Otter Creek and Clear Creek.
		At the town meeting in the spring of 1859 the old officers were all re-elected, and the town records do not disclose that anything of special interest was done.
		The town meeting in 1860 resulted in the election of Harris Searl as chair- man and Josephus Livermore and Charles Hale as supervisors; C. Warren was elected clerk, J. Smith, treasurer, and Charles Buckman, assessor.
