The colors applied to this Fairchild were blue fuselage, silver wings and tail.

Fairchild began the development and manufacture of airplanes which soon established him as the largest supplier of civilian transport aircraft in the country.
Fairchild went on to develop many successful civilian and military aircraft including the P-47 Thunderbolt, the C-119 cargo carrier and gunship, the F-105 Thunderchief and the A-10 Thunderbolt II.
The Fairchild C-82 and C-119 series pioneered the large-scale aerial delivery of military equipment and supplies and was the first successful military transport specifically designed to accommodate the post-World War II concept of an all-air Army.

Fairchild were an aerospace manufacturing company based at various times in Farmingdale, New York, Hagerstown, Maryland, and San Antonio, Texas.
The company was founded by Sherman Fairchild in 1925 as Fairchild Aviation Corporation, based in Farmingdale, New York.
In 1964 the company purchased the helicopter producer Hiller Helicopter, changing their name to Fairchild Hiller and producing the FH-1100 until 1973 when the helicopter division was sold back to Stanley Hiller.

Hiller decided to develop its design as a civil helicopter, resulting in the FH-1100 of which the first production examples were delivered in the summer of 1966.

Albuquerque, NM Before they were Stingers, many of the AC-119K series were attached to the 10th, 11th and 12th Troop Carrier Squadrons, of the 60th Troop Carrier Wing, based at Dreux in France.
