The first prototype of the "Barracuda", as the type was named, performed its initial flight on 7 December 1940, with the second flying on 29 June 1941.
The Barracuda Mark I was a high-wing monoplane with "taildragger" landing gear, the main gear retracting outward into the wing and the tail gear being fixed.
It is unclear if it the Barracuda was ever formally used as a target tug or for the ASR role, though a picture does survive of a Mark II carrying a lifeboat on the centerline in a strictly experimental fit.

Fairey then designed its successor, the Albacore, but rather than taking over the duties of the Swordfish, the Albacore served alongside it.
The landing gear was the other unique design aspect of the Barracuda, with an odd L-shaped strut arrangement being used to provide as wide a track as possible without using up much wing space for the retraction mechanism.
The first mission that brought attention to the Barracuda was an attack on the German battleship Tirpitz, when several squadrons made a surprise attack on the ship in a Norwegian fjord.

The Fairey Barracuda was an ungainly looking aircraft that served in the Atlantic and Far East campaigns of World War II as a dual-role torpedo and dive bomber.
One thing I also noticed was a lack of stores, the Barracuda could be armed with torpedo, or bombs, mines and depth charges.
This is the usual MPM variety with being just a few small sheets showing sprue diagram, adequate but not very detailed assembly steps in one or two drawings and various profiles of the aircraft for colours and marking and decal placement.
