Your Song : Lesson by David Hodge
But unlike a song such as Fields of Gold, for instance, where the arpeggios faithfully track the melody line, this will be more of an straight arpeggio accompaniment.
The "outro" of Your Song is simply a repeat of the final three lines of the chorus, only ultimately resolving to C instead of to G as we've just done.
Well, maybe not "precisely!" In this installment of "Songs for Intermediates" we'll look at arranging a classic "piano song," in this case Your Song by Elton John and Bernie Taupin, for the single guitarist.

On One More Time the Prodigal arrangement is — as with other songs from the album — fairly faithfully adhered to.
The song shares with Typewriter Torment the unusual device of a false start to the final chorus: Gary Brooker is in fine voice as the vocal line fades out and in again as the band ploughs on.
In that respect it is perhaps surprising that the song works well in live performance, though underlying the fussy sounds one can hear a real band enjoying itself: not least in the oddly jazzy middle section.

The Desert Song: Introductory Remarks by Brian Taves
The original stage operetta of THE DESERT SONG had a strong score and an intriguing premise with only a very shallow plot, and was filmed faithfully in 1929, and in 1953, the version widely shown on television today.
THE DESERT SONG is a movie that demonstrates the importance of landscape in creating the setting of a fictional movie, with its use of the outdoors enhancing the mood and themes; such famous songs as "The Riff Song" and "You and I" achieve a new richness when set against actual desert vistas.
Warner Bros. planned to have THE DESERT SONG in release by the beginning of 1943, but by then it had become enmeshed in wartime censorship.

Interpol are as tight as any band can hope to get, and I found a certain thrill in seeing four put-together gentlemen faithfully and flawlessly playing music overflowing with emotion and character.
By the time they were halfway through the second song of the set, it was abundantly clear that Interpol is not the sum of its influences, but rather the sum of the talents of its individual members.
As the band played through a set that included every song from Turn on the Bright Lights, the stellar "Specialist" from their self-titled EP, and a new song tentatively entitled "Lengths", their deftness and excitement never wavered.

Imperfectly by Ani DiFranco: Album Reviews
But if Imperfectly presented the singer at her most doctrinaire, it also displayed surprising warmth for individuals, notably the uncharacteristically forgiving "Served Faithfully." Imperfectly was the work of a still-growing, still passionate, sometimes confused artist whose personal story in song was proving to be fascinating.
She had not tended to question herself before this, but from its title, Imperfectly, on, DiFranco deconstructed her persona, asking, "What If No One's Watching" in one song and declaring, "I'm No Heroine" in another.
In "Every State Line," she reflected on the difficulties of shoestring travel, and in "Good, Bad, Ugly" and "The Waiting Song," the difficulties of long-distance relationships shaped both the songwriter's anger and her self-doubt.

From the dramatic opening number In The Flesh to the final (and new) song Each Small Candle, we are treated to one sensational song after another with no let up in intensity or passion.

Clem Snide: A Beautiful EP: Pitchfork Review
The disc closes out with "Nick Drake Tape", plucked from their sparse 1998 debut You Were a Diamond, and rendered faithfully on-air; the song is a perfectly breathy finish to an EP that's, ultimately, just as light.
Unlike "Beautiful", "I'll Be Your Mirror" earns aping: Clem Snide expertly stretch the song out to a bit over three minutes (skillfully harmonizing where Nico and Reed just doubled-up), threading in some melancholic cello lines and acoustic finger-flourishes, Barzelay's wobbly croak providing a warm alternative to Nico's brisk, disembodied warble.
The final two tracks on A Beautiful EP were recorded live on WFUV; the first, a striking cover of The Velvet Underground's "I'll Be Your Mirror", sits in wild contrast to the band's take on Aguilera-- the crinkled-nose sneer is gone, replaced by loads of sincere, held-breath reverence and persuasive conviction.

INTRODUCTION TO THE APOCRYPHA, NRSV BIBLE
Stories of faithfully observant Jews among non-Jewish populations (Tobit, 3 Maccabees) were joined by expanded versions of books that strengthened this point (Greek Esther, the Prayer of Azariah, and Song of the Three Jews in ch 3 of Daniel).
The reference to "books in their entirety and with all their parts" is intended to cover the Letter of Jeremiah as chapter 6 of Baruch, the Additions to Esther, and the chapters in Daniel including the Prayer of Azariah, the Song of the Three Jews, Susanna, and Bel and the Dragon.
The book of Tobit is distinguished by the use of various folktale motifs (e.g., the motifs of the grateful dead, the angel in disguise, the dangerous bride, and the demon lover), and by its reference to Ahikar, the hero of a non-Jewish folktale from Mesopotamia.

 Amazon.com: The Dirty Boogie: Music
Louis Prima--whose "Jump Jive an' Wail" is faithfully remade here--wasn't exactly the king of subtlety himself, but even he might have covered his ears at the blare produced by the combination of Setzer's (admittedly sharp) guitar playing and a too-bright horn section.
He sings a 50s song "Jump Jive An Wail" and wrote his own song "Dirty Boogie" and both are two great swinging songs.
A couple of The Dirty Boogie's cuts are cute ("You're the Boss," an Elvis Presley/Ann-Margret duet, is recast for Setzer and No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani), but fans of the Cherry Poppin' Daddies and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy might think twice.

 Yes
Yes were a fine little prog rock band that pretty much defined the genre: they might not have been its immediate fathers (this honour still falls to King Crimson), but they really came to epithomize it par excellence, with their erratic and lengthy song structures, spacey meaningless lyrics, superprofessional instrumentation and a heavy classical influence.
For the most part, Yes faithfully reproduced the originals on stage, and like most progressive bands at the time, their main aim was to impress the audience and plunge them into a more 'realistic' landscape of sound than could be achieved through the usual turntable or tape deck.
Steve Howe gets in with some really angry guitar licks, though, and Anderson and company furiously chanting 'cha cha cha' is highly unpredictable for a Yes song; but that's it.

Wes announced he was going to play a song he liked, implying that he didn't like what he normally played very much at all, and then proceeded to play a county and western song, which was as far off the CHED playlist as a communication from aliens.

 Journey Album Reviews
Along with “Separate Ways,” this album’s signature song is “Faithfully,” one of the definitive power ballads with a great Schon/Perry climax and heart tugging lyrics about missing the missus on the road (where Perry was likely shagging anything with a pulse; oh, never mind...).
In truth, the song is a melodic but annoyingly cheesy attempt at a "Hey Jude"-styled significance, but it certainly made for a good sing along in concert, with audiences swaying along with its "na na na na" chorus.
Aside from the so-so rocker, "Can Do," the second half of the album is a bit ballad heavy, but even their ballads usually include a Neal Schon (also formerly of Santana) guitar solo and some Perry vocal acrobatics to spice things up, plus “Winds Of March” even has an explosive jam ending.
