Topic: Fake band

Fake (band) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fake was an 80s synthpop band from Sweden.
Fake was born when two Swedish musicians, Erik Strömblad and Stefan Bogstedt, founded their own band, then called Size 46, in 1977.
The band grew over the next years, and more and more synthesizers were added to their rock music.

OFFOFFOFF music FAKE BRAIN band with Gideon Kendall, James Pertusi, Marc Friedlander, Andrew Solin
Fake Brain specializes in smartly written songs with a satirical bite — most of it good, hard, fast, raunchy, punk-influenced rock but some of it smoother pop and deceptively gentle ballads.
For a completely different side of Fake Brain, there's "Erasable Mattress" (MP3) a love ballad that stays sweet for all of two lines before turning surreal and then satirical.
The band's latest effort was released with a bash at the Knitting Factory recently, and if the earlier songs were a little weighty, the new CD "Push" has a silly side.

Igor Leonardi talks about his Fake Orchestra / An Interview
The cover of Fake Orchestra's new CD Fake World shows a smiling golden elephant romping across a tangerine sky, blowing stars from his trunk.
Track number 9 (listen) on the album, a medley recorded in front of a live audience during a radio concert, is an example of Fake's freespirited eclecticism: it begins with a Turkish theme, then the Sicilian song "Sole" is overlaid on the Turkish rhythm.
Despite the fact that the band is so large and includes musicians from such different backgrounds, he says it's not hard for them to find common ground.

I loved the fake press passes, and how the very premise of the mission did away with the need to be discreet about having the cameras out (and lent credence to the part about them shooting a new music video).

One idea was to pepper the list with "red herrings" in the form of fake bandnames-- and if someone chose one, we'd ignore their responses later on.
This left us with a set of common band name grammars (popular ones were NNP NNP and NNP #.) We then fed terms from our already collected music text set ('Klepmit') through the grammars again (at the natural probabilities) to make some believable names.
If you start a band with one of these and get famous, I only ask that you don't use "Caldera Catnip," as it is already taken.
