After Franco's death, the Crown was re-instated and therefore the democratization was later led by Adolfo Suárez, a former chief of the Movimiento, atomized Falange.
Virtually left out of the political mindshare, Falangist inspired parties (some claiming the heritage of Hedilla) are only seen publicly in State-funded TV election advertisements and during demonstrations on historic dates.

During the Spanish Civil War, the Falangists fought on the Nationalist side against the Left-led Republic, being the fastest growing party on their side (from a few thousands to some hundred thousand members before the Unification).
In America, one small group, the Christian Falangist Party of America, inspired by Kataeb, was formed in 1985.
That is because Falangists consider themselves to be neither rightists nor leftists, but members of a nationalist, and distributist movement whose roots lay deeply in the Catholic Church.

They are not for the return of old Spain, not necessarily even for the monarchy, although they tend to take Mussolini's stand on this rather than Hitler's, that is, to tolerate and use the monarchy as the tool of centralizing and concentrating capital.
The Falangists want the modernization of Spain and believe that not the workers through Soviets can accomplish this but only heavy industrial capital regimenting and disciplining the nation.
The struggle between the Falangists and the monarchists recently has become so bitter that Franco was forced to take action, having discovered a plot against himself, and to place on trial the leader of the organization, Manuel Hedilla, for sedition.

They are so concerned about being branded fanatical or extremist that they actually get very little done....when it is the fanatics and extremists who really make the changes in society, not those who are afraid to act.
The Christian Falangist Party of America would like to see the Israeli border extended to the Suez canal and maybe if Egypt is foolish enough (again) to start another war with God's nation, Israel will take back the Sinai....but we don't see that happening.
We support the re-introduction of corporal punishment for petty criminals and vandals, and the restoration of capital punishment for pedophiles, terrorists and murderers as an option for judges in cases where their guilt is proven beyond a doubt, as by DNA evidence or being caught red-handed etc.

The historical pedant in me is amused by the association of North Africa and the Falangists.
In the Spanish Civil War, the Nationalist side made use of colonial troops from Morocco (and was a theme in Republican propoganda).
Peres-frere probably makes the association between the Falangists and Arabs because of the Lebanese militia of the same name (even though they were our allies, the Lebanese falangists aren't well-thought of).

Did these few thousand Falangists speak for all of Lebanon, or are they “for hire” street people mixed with some students who made up the “demonstrations?” Did you realize the Falangists took their name from Franco’s Falangist/Fascists?
Why is America so anxious to get Syria out of Lebanon?
