 Claire Falkenstein
Held in a setting uniquely sympathetic to Falkenstein’s art, with her luminous fountain Structure and Flow and the dynamic sculpture Point as a Set #16 in the Museum’s sculpture garden, this exhibition presents jewelry executed from 1945 to 1980.
Falkenstein blended numerous influences and sources to create jewelry that was uniquely her own, calling to mind the beaten gold of the Assyrian civilization, the luminous glass jewelry of the Romans, the delicate organic curves of Art Nouveau, and the linear structure of Alexander Calder’s mobiles.
In the early fifties, Falkenstein created her jewelry in a tiny Paris apartment, blending all her techniques of metal casting to create a series of unique pieces which laid the foundation for her prolific output, including hatpins, buttons, earrings, cufflinks, body jewelry, rings, necklaces, pendants, bracelets, belt buckles and brooches.

CLAIRE FALKENSTEIN: Well, there were quite a few artists and we were lucky in having a director of the art department as Douglas MacAgy, because he also was a creative person, to be a head of an art department.
CLAIRE FALKENSTEIN: He was influenced by people from the school going to the hospital and giving him--opening him up to art as a means of bringing him out of his misery, which was a kind of, almost lack of motion.
CLAIRE FALKENSTEIN: Well, I think because I build a vocabulary for myself, and it's not a matter of copying a style, but rather having words, not words, but forms and shapes and ideas that can relate to feeling and expression rather than copying objects or using objects as a means of work.

We maintain the cost and the modifiers of the spells the same as in Falkenstein, and we subtract the sorcerer's ability in FUDGE adding 4 to it and multiplying the result by 2 (which gives us a result between 2 and 14).
This gives us a result between 2 and 14, the same as the range in Falkenstein, but it is not linear (the most probable result is 8) neither we can obtain odd values (3, 5, 7,..., 13).
