Review: Fallen is the major-label debut of Evanescence, a Little Rock, AR-based quartet led by the soaring vocals of 20-year-old Amy Lee.
In fact, almost half of Fallen's 11 songs are piano-driven ballads that suggest Tori Amos if she wore too much mascara and recorded for the Projekt label.

The album is an eclectic mix of upbeat, groove- and lick-laden melodies and harmonies that rock.
Fallen Roadies have gathered diverse influences from classic rock, pop, blues, jazz and island music to create a 14-track CD that moves from ballads to pop to straight-ahead rock while still maintaining a sound that is distinctively Fallen Roadies.
The album sound great, but to truly experence a show you have to become a "roadie." They are a hap-harard mix of guys who truely love music, and give it their all, and it really shows.

Fallen has been certified 6x platinum and was nominated for the Grammy "Album of the Year" in 2004.
However, Lee herself does not consider the record to be an actual album; rather, she considers it merely a bundle of demo songs (some of which she says are not done properly) that was sent to record companies.

 Jamie Barnes:The Fallen Acrobat reviews
The Fallen Acrobat is a beautiful album of bedroom folk songs, closer in style and spirit to Christian Kiefer than any artist on Silber's regular roaster.
The Fallen Acrobat is a predominantly acoustic collection of laid-back folk-pop in the vein of Gordon Lightfoot and the late Harry Nilsson, circa the late '60s and early '70s.
Though, the discretely acoustic feel of the album (and this can't be stressed enough) at times makes the listening experience somewhat humdrum, Barnes perfects an emotionally enriching listening experience through his eloquent songwriting.

Waking the Fallen was the last Avenged Sevenfold album to be released on an independent label, as the band signed with Warner Bros. Records before they recorded their third release, City of Evil.
Waking the Fallen’s next song, Chapter Four, opens with heavy power chords, and excellent drumming from The Rev. Following the intro is a cool pre-verse that features great harmonized lead sections.
Overall, Waking the Fallen is a solid effort from a band still trying to find their sound.

Evanescence Fallen Review @ Serendipity Media      www.serendipity.windwhispers.net
As the track progresses, her vocals soar over the aggressive guitar work as she belts out with bitter determination to be free from an abusive relationship, yet despite her strong will can't seem to stop drowning in their presence.
Lee may be singing about escaping to her dream world of paper flowers and purple skies, but as do most Evanescence songs, there is still an underlying darkness in the theme, and that keeps the chorus from sounding trite.
Though fans of their indie work may feel betrayed, as Fallen steers clear of many of the eclectic and lighter sounds prevalent on their earlier work, and the guitar arrangements also rarely delve into unfamiliar territory, it is impossible to deny that this is a masterful debut.

One of the things i like most about the album is the way it has been put together, as it is not just a random order, it is clear that it is something that has been given a lot of thought.
First of all we have the intro setting the mood for the album, which then launches into the quiker more aggresive traks to begin with, getting slower and more melodic throughout the album, with the exeption of I Won't See You Tonight Part 2 which still effortlessly fits in after the first part.
Across this wide range, my personal favourates on the album would have to be I Won't See You tonight Part 1 for its beautiful singing, guitar work and everything about it, Unholy Confessions for its ridiculusly catchy riff and Clairvoyant Desiese for the superb solo and chorus.

The melancholic ‘Potential Getaway Driver’ is one of the moments where Brandtson really shine, particularly with Jolley and Porter’s harmonies on the chorus lyric, “She doesn’t want to be dead in the water/yet she swims out to sea”, sounding vaguely similar to the Get Up Kids.
Elsewhere, however, there is nothing particularly nasty lying beneath the standard Emo-Rock exterior, which is a shame, as a little more aggression on the album could have raised its tone a little.
“Fallen Star Collection” is the perfect background music album, but will always be left in the background by The Get Up Kids, who do what Brandtson do much better.

InternetEd Reviews: Evanescence- Fallen   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-23)
While Evanescence may seem pretty original on a first listen, it quickly becomes apparent that they are playing the same kind of music as elder European acts like The Gathering, only with a slightly nu-metal-ized American touch.
Regardless, most of the music on Fallen is melodic and expressive enough to appeal to the Goth rock fan, yet raw and metallic enough to appeal to the average metalhead as well.
Overall, Evanescence’s Fallen is a good album that offers a mixture of haunting female vocals and Americanized Gothic metal riffs.

"The Fallen" is all that contemporary country music should be - steel guitar, fiddle and twangin' guitar to a beat that's a shuffle, a swing or a waltz over songs that will make you laugh or cry.
The word is that this is one of the most impressive country albums this country has generated since 'The Captain', and after giving it a few whirls I'd have to agree.

 ANCIENT CEREMONY: Fallen Angel's Symphony
Way back at the dawn of time (well 1989) Chris Anderle and F.T. Kerbs began to gather musicians, who were able to express their moods and emotion, through the creation of litanies of dark music.
Their second album 'Fallen Angel's Symphony' hails not only a new line-up, but sees the band heading towards the extreme metal genre, citing influences as varied as Byron, De Sade and Stoker and musical influences such as Therion, Slayer and even classical composers such as Bach and Beethoven.
Like the vast majority of albums of this type 'Fallen Angel's Symphony' relies heavily on there creative keyboard work Stefan Muller with the overall haunting dark feel.
