This quilt was given to the Maine State Museum by the Pine Tree Quilters Guild, Inc. In 1996 it was brought in to a "Quilt Documentation Day" in Kennebunk, conducted by the Guild's Maine Quilt Heritage committee.
The quilt measures 96 inches by 98 inches and was made in Falmouth, Maine, in 1857.
Their minutes record numerous occasions when the assembly of a quilt from squares previously worked by the members was the prime activity of the meeting.
