 Finding the Falsetto
Falsetto is a detour, and singing always imposes detours upon a blank and neutral surge of air.
Though falsetto was scapegoated, and associated with degeneracy, detour, and artifice, it has long represented a resource: the castrato Tosi speaks of the feigned voice as something "of Use", particularly when it is disguised by art.
Falsetto is not a sin; the sin is breaking into it undisguisedly.

Vocalist - Using Falsetto to Access Head Voice
I have also heard that falsetto singing would be great for the head voice practising.
I can only report that I use descending scales in falsetto quite a bit with my young male students (college age) as a means for developing the head voice (with which most of them are quite unacquainted when they first arrive) and it seems to work beautifully.
I think that using descending scales is a great part of the exercises; they must learn how to begin each phrase with the capacity for the highest notes so that an appropriate amount of "head" voice and the correct physiology is available for them no matter where they are in their range.

 Virtual Festival: Hawai'ian falsetto singing
Falsetto singing, most often used by men, extends the singer's range to notes above their ordinary vocal range.
As with other aspects of Hawaiian music, it is probable that falsetto developed from a combination of sources, including pre-European Hawaiian chanting and early Christian hymn singing.
Falsetto may have been a natural and comfortable vocal technique for early Hawaiians, since a similar break between registers called ha'iha'i, is used as an ornament in some traditional chanting styles.

The Vocal Studio - glossary Falsetto
Falsetto is the maximal elongation of vocal cords with minimal glottic gap.
Falsetto was originally called "false voice" because of the use of castrates (castrated males) when women were not allowed to sing in churches.
Falsetto will not blend with chest voice, therefore making it impractical to use except for special vocal stylings.

Falsetto - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Falsetto is a singing technique that produces sounds that are pitched higher than the singer's normal range, in the treble range.
The falsetto register is used by male countertenors to sing in the alto and occasionally the soprano range, and was before women sang in choirs.
Falsetto is not generally counted by classical purists as a part of the vocal range of anyone except countertenors.

 Falsetto
Falsetto (fall-SET-oh) is a singing technique that produces sounds pitched higher than the singer's normal range.
The falsetto register is used by male countertenors to approximate the register in classical voice that previously employed castrati, in pieces written before castratism became socially unacceptable and eventually universally outlawed.
Falsetto is employed through the expansion and separation of vocal cords in which case only the edges of the vocal cord vibrate, not the entire vocal cord.

I thought the treatment of the old tune was outstanding-the wavering falsetto lead, the bridge by an alternate lead in normal tone, and back to the falsetto voice.
The style used mostly on this side is the echoing effect of the falsetto trailing the lead, and the strong performance of this style is the reason that this recording has stood out and become memorable.
The falsetto is the full lead on this tune and the reach for the highest notes at the ending of the verse nears glass shattering proportions.

 Talk:Falsetto - This Might Be A Wiki
Letterbox has a somewhat-falsetto voice singing backup during the second verse and bridge, and Where Your Eyes Don't Go has a falsetto harmony vocalizing as the song fades out (and also during the chorus I think).
That one has no actual falsetto in the lyrics (not even in the chorus), but that haunting vocalising at the end is either someone singing in falsetto, or a synth of some sort.
I also added Hide Away Folk Family to the "briefly used" list, because there's a (heavily reverbed) sound at the end that's sort of a cross between "hee" and "hoo" that is definitely a falsetto male voice.

NPR.org, October 10, 2006 · Men have sung in falsetto for centuries -- from 17th-century English church choristers to The Bee Gees, Prince and today's operatic superstar counter-tenor, David Daniels.

It takes a moment to adjust to the eerily androgyny of Siminica's falsetto, but his subtle choice of color and shading is undeniably affecting.

if you want to go higher in falsetto then you have to cut back on pressure more and raise the area of resonance some each time, plus more air should pass behind your velum.
The head voice (women) and falsetto (men) are associated with light, bright singing tones that are higher in pitch and resonate within the upper sinus cavities.
Also, it would be great if people know any songs that include high chest voice notes, high head voice, or high falsetto notes by men or women.
